At first I was pi**ed...

They changed the lighting in this walkway and at first I was mad about it. But after shooting there with Talia...I'm in love! She mentioned this walkway as a spot she liked and it turned out to be a perfect match for her outfit and energy! So much fun to play in the changing lights...would you believe this is all available light? (For you non photogs...that just means I didn't add any lighting of my own).

I love it when everything comes together perfectly for a senior photo session. Outfit, location, vibes... it was all 🤌🏼 for Talia.

College grad sessions in Iowa City are officially underway and I'm having so much fun learning about each grad and what their plans are for the future. It's also a fun game to play musical chairs with all the other photogs having sessions in the same place at the same time. 😂

Can you spot the trend?

Each of these images features vintage or thrifted pieces. Some are obvious, and some you can't tell at all and that's the point. Thrifting hits so many birds with one stone. Not only does it level up your style with unique one-of-kind finds that scream personality but it's good for the environment!

Most of my personal favorite clothing items are thrifted, and the best part is usually it's easier on the wallet to!

The wind was out of control but her images are going to be 🔥 none-the-less!!! I can't wait to share some sneaks of Talia.

There's not much that scares me as a senior photographer anymore. I've been in almost any kind of situation and always know that I can create amazing images. That's why hiring an experienced photographer who can bring the best out in you regardless of crazy wind and weather is so important!

To be real... time with my people learning, connecting, and let's be honest....dancing together seriously gets me recharged and ready for the busy season to come.

Each winter I usually attend a few photo conventions but this year was different and I didnt get to travel as much as I would have wanted. But I got home a couple days ago from Focus Forward and it was seriously amazing.

What does this mean for you? It means I'm recharged and ready to take this year by the horns. I've got fresh ideas and a renewed sense of creativity that I only get from spending time with creatives who only share and celebrate each other.

Now it's time to get back to work...

I would much rather be soaking in the sunshine at a laundromat than dealing with the weather we're having this week. 💨⛈️🌪️

Charlotte (and her twin Sylvia) officially kicked off class of 2027 with creative sessions a couple weeks ago. She brought some fun vintage inspired fits and loved a laundromat vibe. I got creative by shooting through panty hose and/or colored gels...add in some bubble@gum@and you've got a whole vibe. These creative sessions are getting the arty farty juices flowing and making me so excited for the season to come.
