Last Saturday was by far the one of the most sensory-rich + magical wedding days in the books for me. 🌿

Feeling how the warmth of the sun and humidity made my skin dewy and my hair have a mind of it’s own was kind of nice after these long cold months lol. I kept reminding myself to take deep breaths while we were in the gardens, I couldn’t get enough of the crisp, fresh air from all the trees and plants. Listening to the soft water fountains trickle in the background during Mac and Monet’s emotional vows made the moment feel even more vulnerable. And just being surrounded by the abundance of greenery and love in the whole room, made my whole weekend and was the best way to kickoff my 2026 wedding season 🤍😌

2026 is officially the year so many of our close friends are saying “I do” 🥹 Feeling incredibly lucky to have Nicole in my life. She was by my side through every moment of my wedding, and now I get the honor of celebrating and supporting her through hers. Such a special full-circle moment! Currently in full bachelorette trip planning mode and SO excited for all the celebrations ahead🥂✨

Nicole, I love you so much and am endlessly grateful for a friendship like ours. Watching you and Cody together just makes my heart so happy. So lucky to do life (and weddings 🥂) together🫶🏽

Hello I’m still here! Sharing this super cute session of these two, telling their story at their favorite bar and the art museum that really brings out their colorful personalities💓

I took a little step back from posting to prioritize my own headspace and give myself the space to slow down. I’ve really enjoyed leaning into more alone time lately🙌🏽 I’m someone who truly needs time that’s just for me, even if that means doing absolutely nothing. Now I’m easing back into sharing again and feeling excited to reconnect here.

I still have so many moments from last year to share, plus some fun stuff and a few updates coming soon.🤍

Jaw. On. The. Floor. Had to physically remind myself to close my mouth many times during this burlesque show. Hosted by and they definitely DELIVERED. So inspiring to witness this beautiful art form, 10/10 would recommend experiencing this magic live 🫦🪭✨

As the three of them danced and ran through the field together during sunset, I couldn’t help but tear up behind the camera.🥹 I kept imagining Protector by Beyoncé playing in the background. Such a perfect moment. You can tell Emilia is so deeply loved, and seeing the way my cousins pour their hearts into being her parents is something so special to watch.💗

As a q***r photographer, creating an affirming and safe space is at the heart of everything I do for everyone who feels isolated from society standards, especially for the q***r community. The wedding industry hasn’t always made room for us, so I show up with intention, care, and so much damn pride.

Shelly and Sydney’s wedding was intimate, emotional, and filled with the kind of love that you almost can’t live without. It was a privilege to witness their closest people, their chosen family, all in one space rooting for their love.

Chosen family shows up when others don’t. They love us as we are. They celebrate us fully. And seeing Shelly and Sydney surrounded by that kind of support was powerful. It was healing even for me. I find that with every q***r wedding I document, I heal my inner q***r child’s heart little by little.🫂

Happy Pride Month to all who are out and proud, and to those who are still on their journey.🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈🫶🏽

Tomorrow marks 16 years since marriage equality became legalized in Iowa, making it the third state in the nation to do so. A historic win for love, equality, and the LGBTQ+ community.

To honor this anniversary, I’m sharing photos from my first wedding of the year to kickoff off wedding season. In November, following the election results, Molly reached out to me saying she and her partner, Jayne, had decided to move their wedding up to March just to be safe, in case their right to marry was ever taken away.

The fact that q***r couples still have to plan their love around fear is heartbreaking. And yet, their day was full of beauty, joy, and resilience. Documenting their day reminded me just how important it is to protect the rights we’ve fought so hard to gain.

Here’s to 16 years of marriage equality in Iowa and to the future we’ll keep fighting for because love between consenting adults should never be up for debate.
