This week on First Friday we celebrate Ilfochrome/Cibachrome photographic printing that Tom Potter perfected over many years in his darkroom. Ilfochrome prints are color prints developed from color slides using Ilfochrome's exceptional paper and process. The Ilfochrome process is known for its image clarity, color purity, and archival properties. Cibachrome/Ilfochrome photographic paper and chemicals were invented in the 1960s and ended production in 2012. It is rare to find Ilfochome prints on exhibit today and they have become highly valued collectors

We are proud to feature this one-of-a-kind Ilfochrome exhibit. We hope to see you there to celebrate Tom's extraordinary work, "Ilfochrome".

This week on First Friday we celebrate the photographs that Tom, Gayle, and Nancy created from 4x5 film cameras and printed with traditional photographic chemistry on silver gelatin paper in our state-of-the-art darkroom (that Tom built himself!) Our traditional darkroom printing spans 25+ years mentored by great masters of darkroom techniques, Howard Bond, John Sexton, and Steve Sherman.

We have just closed down our darkroom so we decided to devote this exhibit to photographs that were taken with film and developed in our darkroom over several decades...and we will honor the namesake of our gallery, "Darkroom Revelations"!

We hope you will come to see our exhibit, Silver Gelatin, and help us celebrate the end of our darkroom era photography! But also stay tuned for continued digital and hybrid photography from this Darkroom Revelations team!

First Friday Open Studios night at Factory Arts District is this Friday, March 6. Our exhibit is “Encounters: Strangers and Friends”. We find people fascinating and we enjoy photographing them while they are at work, doing chores, enjoying their avocations, communing with nature, and modeling for the camera.

We hope you will join us and all the other art studios and shops at Factory Arts District!

A Simple Guide to the Little Creatures That Keep Our World Alive 🐝🌼
Honeybees are the gentle makers of wax and golden honey, quietly supporting life all around us.
Bumblebees, the fluffy garden friends, spend their days loving flowers and helping them grow strong and beautiful.
Wasps, though a bit misunderstood, play their part too — pollinating plants and controlling pests, just needing a little more personal space.
Each one has a purpose. Each one matters.
Respect them, protect them, and let nature do its magic.
