✴NICHOLAS✴

I love a great pop of color in a commercial headshot!

The red sweater against the blue background works so well, and that crisp white collar gives the whole look a little personality.

But what I love most is his expression. The confidence in his eyes, and just enough personality coming through.

When working with young actors, wardrobe is something I put a lot of thought into. I want casting directors to see a child they can easily imagine in a commercial or on TV.

The right wardrobe helps tell that story without taking attention away from the child.

Is your child ready for fresh headshots? Whether they're just starting out or already working professionally, I'd love to help. Fill out the contact form through the link in my bio to get started!

✴ IVANA ✴

Three different looks, three different sides of Ivana.

The soft pink gives her a youthful, approachable feel. Denim brings out a more relaxed, everyday personality, while the neutral tones and serious expression show a completely different side.

But what really stands out to me is her eyes. There's a confidence and connection that holds your attention, even when she's not smiling.

That's what I look for when photographing young actors. Wardrobe helps suggest the character, but it's the expression that makes casting want to know more.

Beautiful range, Ivana!

✴SERAPHINA✴

Talent is one thing. Work ethic is another.

After working with this young actor for so many years, I notice it right away.

The kids who listen. Who take direction. Who want to try it again. Who stay curious and are willing to work until we get it.

You see it in a headshot session, but I think it says so much about how they approach their craft too.

There is so much that goes into being a young actor. Classes, auditions, self tapes, callbacks and plenty of hearing no.

Talent might get someone's attention, but showing up and doing the work matters.

I have so much respect for these kids.

The yellow backdrop was intentional. πŸ’›

I don’t randomly choose a backdrop because I think the color is pretty.

I’m looking at the whole picture.

What are they wearing?
What’s their coloring?
What kind of energy do they have?
And most importantly, how do I want this image to feel?

Sometimes I want clean and neutral.

Sometimes I want something moodier.

And sometimes, like in this case, I see a kid with this incredible energy and think…

We need COLOR.

Your kid wants to try modeling, now what?

This is one of the biggest questions I get from parents.

And before you spend thousands of dollars building a portfolio or trying to figure out agencies, my advice is simple:

Get them in front of a professional camera first.

Why spend money on a photoshoot if they’ve never modeled before?

Because this is where you find out if they actually LIKE being in front of the camera.

Modeling isn’t just about being photogenic.

Can they take direction?
Can they move naturally?
Can they change their expression?
Can they get comfortable with someone photographing them?
And most importantly… are they having fun doing it?

Your first photoshoot is practice.

I get kids and teens who walk into my studio having absolutely NO idea how to pose.

They’re not supposed to know yet.

Part of my job is teaching them.

Where to put their hands. How to shift their weight. How to move instead of holding a pose. How to find their angles. How to connect through their eyes.

And little by little, they start getting it.

You do NOT need to spend thousands of dollars to find out if modeling is something your child wants to pursue.

Find a photographer who regularly works with kids and teens, understands how to coach beginners and can give them a positive first experience in front of the camera.

Then see what happens.

Maybe they love it.

Maybe they don't.

Or maybe you watch your kid come alive in front of the camera and think…

OK, this is something that feels right.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Google Review ~ Korey K 2026

Nothing makes me happier than receiving reviews like this from the families I photograph. I specialize in kids and teen actor headshots on Long Island, and creating an experience where young performers feel comfortable and confident in front of my camera is just as important to me as the final headshots.

From start to finish, the experience with Tracey was just superb. She is incredibly kind and made my two first-time children feel perfectly at ease for their session and the results mirror that comfort. What skill; thank you for these portraits!
