After getting to share Haley’s senior photos, it only felt right to give Dillan his own moment too.

I haven’t had the privilege of being Dillan’s youth leader like I have Haley, but I have had the privilege of knowing him his entire life. Like you’ve maybe read before, his parents, Jeff and Marcie, were my youth leaders when I was growing up, which makes getting to photograph both of their kids as seniors feel a little surreal.

There is something really special about watching a kid you’ve known since he was little grow into a young man who is making his faith his own. I’ve watched Dillan grow up in the church, be surrounded by people who love Jesus, and now begin stepping into the man God is calling him to be.

Dillan, as you head into your senior year and whatever comes after it, my prayer is that you keep choosing Him. That your faith becomes deeper, stronger and more your own with every season. That you stay grounded in who God says you are, even when the world gets loud. And that you never underestimate the ways He can use a life that is fully surrendered to Him.

Getting to capture this season for both you and your sister was such a full-circle gift for me. Your family has been part of my own faith story for a long time, and it is pretty incredible to now watch God continue writing yours.

“Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him.”
Colossians 2:7

Dillian - you’re welcome for photo 5 🤣😉

Okay but can we talk about the red-headed Julia Roberts energy happening here?! 😍

This senior session was an extra special one for me.

Haley’s parents, Jeff and Marcie, were my youth group leaders growing up. I remember Haley being prayed for before she was even born, while Marcie was pregnant with her. And now, all these years later, somehow I get the privilege of being one of her youth group leaders and taking her senior pictures. 🥹

There is something so beautiful about getting to see God’s faithfulness across generations like that. The people who once poured into my faith raised a daughter who I now get to know, love, pray for and hopefully pour a little bit back into. What a full-circle gift.

Haley, you hold such a special place in my heart. You are joyful, kind, beautiful and so deeply loved. Getting to watch you grow into the young woman God created you to be has been such a privilege, and I cannot wait to see where He leads you next.

Also… that red hair + that smile + the beach?! Julia Roberts, who?! 🤍

“Let one generation commend your works to another; let them tell of your mighty acts.”
Psalm 145:4

There’s something extra special about getting to photograph a senior I’ve also had the privilege of watching grow in her faith. 🤍

Alexis has been one of my youth group girls, so getting her in front of my camera for her senior pictures at Wood Loft Barn felt a little surreal. Somewhere along the way, these girls you pray with, laugh with, study God’s Word with and walk alongside start becoming young women ready for whatever God has next for them.

Alexis, I hope you always know that the same God who has been faithful in bringing you this far is already present in everything ahead. Keep seeking Him, keep trusting Him, and keep being the sweet, joy-filled girl He created you to be.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart… and he will make straight your paths.” Proverbs 3:5–6

Senior year looks pretty sweet on you. 🤍

This one deserves a permanent place on my timeline from Kaiden and Avery’s wedding.

Amber Kober was absolutely beautiful this past weekend, the light pouring through those doors, the quiet details, and a room ready to hold so much joy and celebration.

There’s something special about photographing a space before it fills with people, knowing all the memories that are about to be made there.

The song playing behind this photo “All Sufficient Merit” makes it feel like a little reminder that even in the beauty of days like these, the greatest gift is still Jesus. 🤍

A little re-introduction for the new faces around here!

Hi, I’m Chelsie! I’ve been behind the camera for 7+ years, and what started as a creative outlet has turned into a business and a career that I genuinely love. I’m a wife, a proud boy mom to a 15-year-old, a country girl at heart, lover of Jesus, the outdoors, America, sprinkled donuts, and a playlist that can go from Eminem to 90s country to praise and worship without warning.

Most of you know me for photographing seniors, families, engagements and weddings. I’ve always believed in moments over perfection. Give me the real laughs, the windblown hair, the little in-between moments and the people being completely themselves. Those are the things I want you to remember.

But when I’m not capturing your stories, there’s a pretty good chance you’ll find me in a hard hat and safety vest capturing a different kind of story for FCC Construction Inc.

And honestly, I’ve fallen in love with this side of photography too.

There is something really cool about documenting a project while it’s still dirt, steel, concrete and a set of plans, then watching it slowly become a place where people will work, learn, gather or grow a business. Even more than the architecture, I love photographing the people who build it. The crews, the craftsmanship, the details and all the work that eventually gets covered up by the finished product.

Whether it’s a bride walking down the aisle, a senior about to start their next chapter, a family in the season they’re in right now, or a building coming out of the ground, I think that’s what I’ve always loved most about photography: getting to tell the story of something becoming.

So if you’re new here, welcome. You’ll find a little bit of love, life, construction dust and probably way too many photos along the way. I’m glad you’re here. 🫶🏽

Brock + Taylor 🤍

A Hinge success story turned downtown Kalamazoo engagement session. 🥹 I actually met these two last year at Taylor’s friend Ally’s wedding, so getting the message that it was their turn was such a fun full-circle moment.

And Taylor’s smile?! Completely contagious. I swear she makes Brock smile bigger just by looking at him, and these two made my job way too easy.

Next summer we’re headed to Castle Farms in Charlevoix to get them MARRIED, and as if I wasn’t already excited enough… they’re having breakfast for dinner: 😂🤍

Let the count down begin!!!

I love when seniors bring pieces of who they are into their sessions. Lizzie brought flowers, her childhood stuffed animal, and her Bible along with her, each one telling a little piece of her story.

When I asked her if she had a life verse, or what her favorite verse was, she pointed to Romans 5:3-8, and written in the margin beside it, in her own handwriting, were three simple words: GOD IS LOVING.

That little note got to me as I was editing. Just a simple truth she wanted to remember tucked into the pages of her Bible that she has spent so much time in. A reminder for her that through suffering, perseverance, character and hope, His love remains constant.

Lizzie, I pray you carry that truth with you into every season ahead. 🤍

“God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” - Romans 5:8

Before this session, Kaylee’s mom told me, “Kaylee is my observer, but when you get her going she has some good one-liners and a quick wit. Jared is outgoing and can talk to anyone. He likes to push Kaylee, and she can give it right back. They are good for each other.”

I smiled reading that… and by the end of the evening, it couldn’t have been more true. 🤍

High school sweethearts, and two people who simply enjoy doing life together. It was such a privilege to get to capture Jared and Kaylees engagement session! Can’t wait for next June!
