The last few days have been a whirlwind.

As many of you know, the storm left our studio without a roof, forcing us to move everything out and begin figuring out what’s next for Photo Focus.

The address of our studio was 301 E. Lake Street, so we wanted to turn that number into something meaningful.

For every 301 Session booked, $30.10 will be donated to local families impacted by the storm.

The number 301 represents more than a session price. It represents the place Photo Focus called home and the community that showed up when we needed help most.

This community helped save our business. Now we’d love the opportunity to pay some of that kindness forward.

Sessions must be booked and photographed by June 30, 2026.

First, we want to apologize for the lack of responses over the last couple of days. As many of you know, our studio suffered significant damage when the roof was torn off during the recent storm on 6/10. Since then, our time has been spent moving our entire studio, working with insurance, documenting all of our property and damaged property as well as figuring out what comes next for Photo Focus.

At the moment, we’re working behind the scenes and having a lot of conversations with our family, friends and support system about the best path forward. Not just financially, but what will allow Photo Focus to continue serving our community for years to come.

While we don’t have all the answers yet, we do know one thing…we DON’T want to leave Horicon.

Why would we leave a town that showed up the way this one did?

When we needed help, hundreds of people followed the story, dozens and dozens showed up in person, and our community stepped in to help save our business. That kind of support is something we’ll never forget.

Right now, we’re taking things one day at a time. We appreciate your patience as responses may be slower than normal while we navigate our business insurance claims, temporary storage, and decisions about the future of our studio.

Thank you for the messages, the prayers, the phone calls, the vehicles, the helping hands, and the encouragement. We see it all, and we are incredibly grateful.

We’ll continue to share updates as we have them. ❤️

I don’t even know where to begin.

In the last few hours, nearly 100 people showed up when we needed them most. Within minutes of going live, friends, family, clients, fellow business owners, and complete strangers came with trucks, trailers, and helping hands to help us empty Photo Focus before more damage could occur. Between loading vehicles, unloading vehicles, trying to reach others to get more vehicles and trailers and offering help from afar, it was…wow. I have no words 😭

This is not how I ever imagined moving out of a studio we put so much hard work into.

After the storm ripped the roof from the building, water had already begun making its way inside. With more rain in the forecast, we knew we had to act fast. Thanks to an incredible community, nearly everything was safely removed.

A huge thank you to Nathan Schwoch(Marshland Bounce Rentals) for opening up his storage facility and giving us a place to bring the contents of Photo Focus while we figure out our next steps.

My heart also goes out to the other businesses affected, especially Josh Muche, whose building was destroyed. My thoughts and prayers are with the families who lost their homes today. I am so sorry.

Horicon has been hit hard lately, and unfortunately this is now part of our story too. But if today proved anything, it’s that this community shows up for one another.

To every person who carried boxes, loaded vehicles, sent messages, offered storage, checked in on us, or simply prayed for everyone affected, thank you.

As we learn about any benefit events, fundraisers, or ways to help those who lost their homes, we’ll do our best to share that information here.

Photo Focus isn’t gone. We’re just facing a chapter we never expected to write.

And if you’ve been thinking about booking a session, now might be the perfect time. Apparently, we have a new studio to build. 😭❤️
