Brothers and sisters in optics! Tamron Americas is doing a pop up event Mike's Camera Lone Tree in support of tomorrow's photo shoot with HawkQuest, today, til 530p!

I've personally had the privilege of working with Kin Quitugua and his HawkQuest raptor rescue and rehabilitation group, for nearly two decades. Kin and his staff have always represented the platinum standard in the field. Schools, health and welfare, photo groups and, of course, our workshops with local camera stores dating back to the early 2000s, anywhere conservation and awareness can be taught, HawkQuest will be found. It's been such a privilege, any time I get the call to help instruct the photo classes, I am 100% there to the best of my ability. SO I am looking forward to helping teach my group of students tomorrow!
(We all know the coolest group at the birds of prey shoot is the Tamron group)

A personal pause, if you don't mind :)

Happy birthday to my oldest kiddo. 29 is an unfathomable number. We were never supposed to have made it this far. Here's to your 3rd decade entry. I am immeasurably proud of you, the man you've become.

He's taller than I, so I joked I'd make him small. In reality, he is a cosmic event I celebrate on the daily.

Speaking of Anja Stoll Photography... Her workhorse lens is the Tamron Americas 35-150 f/2-2.8... which should honestly come as no surprise to anyone in fashion, event, theatre, wedding (voice fades out...)... Because the Tamron 35-150 f/2-2.8 VXD is the absolute queen of those realms, in matched in the versatility and output combination scale. And, in the hands of someone with some vision... (gestures at Anja's endless parade of excellence) Well. Clearly good things will happen.

More from the much-obsessed-over 12-20 F2.8. Today, a video from our friend Andre Costantini, who is both an extraordinary talent and a heck of a hooman bean. Andre was given a 12-20 to work with just in time for his trip to Norway. Absolutely no one should be surprised that this lens was built for the environs presented by the Arctic Circle. Am I jealous? Pffft. PFFFT. OBVIOUSLY NOT. Watch the vid. 😎

Rocky Mountain throwback Thursday. Certainly not a novel shot but one that I personally adore: the panoramic view of the mittens of Monument Valley at sunset. It was here that I discovered that I was truly a person attuned to mother nature's desolate side of beauty. Deserts are the sharing of seas and shores alike, whittled to a fine silica sound. Time upon time. Something to which every photographic frame is beholden.
