It’s never easy shooting underwater but it always looks epic. Garrett G Ikilani Kuwada made his spear the night before, technically it was same day since it was after midnight when he finished.

I swam his wheel chair out a good 30m/100ft out. It’s a weird shape to swim with in the water, it’s like a giant plow. As the chair got saturated with the water it was like a stuck plow trying to swim it out 😂 but we did it.

The spear was also another issue, G put real 🐅🦈 🦷 in the spear. The spear itself was buoyant so when letting go of the spear it would shoot straight up. You definitely did not want to be grazed by this thing 😬. It was like a razor blade with hooks.

Kristine Le-Esposito swam down….. nah nah nah nah 😂, she was the work mule that unload G’s truck with the wheel chair tank and all the things needed for this shoot.

Even though we went though all of this just for one shot, it’s so worth it and I would do it again.
