You know what really helps during a photo session?

A client having an idea of something they want. Now sometimes that can be hard, especially if they have a really specific vision in their head that you can’t imagine. BUT a general idea, feeling, or example shown can help me figure out and curate your session to you.

I think my job as a photographer is to help your vision come to life while also creating it through my style and perspective. And I totally get that sometimes you don’t fully know what you want — that’s part of why you hire a photographer in the first place. But if you hired me, you’re probably already drawn to my aesthetic, the emotion in my photos, and the way I tell stories.

So when clients send me a Pinterest board, a movie vibe, a random screenshot, or even just say “I want it to feel nostalgic and cinematic,” it genuinely helps more than you think. It gives me something to build from so your session feels personal instead of just recreated over and over.

At the end of the day, I don’t want your photos to just look pretty — I want them to feel like you.

4 reasons I may NOT be the family photographer for you.

1. I wouldn’t say I’m extremely type B, because I am always on time, BUT I am not a type A personality so if you’re a perfectionist we may not be a good fit. My brain isn’t organized at all.
2. I am a dork and say whatever comes to mind which can be weird and embarrassing, but good news is I will make a big fool of myself so hopefully you won’t ever feel embarrassed during your session. But if you are a super serious person I might not be for you.
3. I am a nerd and play nerdy music that makes me happy during sessions. (Only at locations where I can actually hear, because there is no point bringing out a speaker with loud crashing waves) So if you don’t like hearing Lord of the rings soundtrack or things of that nature you might want to skedaddle, but I think I am a fun time.
4. Definitely a potty humor girly, so if you don’t joke with kids about p**p and farts you may get offended. Anything to try to get laughs 💩
