The new website is here!

Over the past few months, I’ve been working behind the scenes to give Hank Jiang Photography a fresh new home online and I’m excited to finally share it with you.

The refreshed site has a cleaner, more streamlined look, but more importantly, it gives you a better way to experience what I do:

📖 Get to know me — I’ve added more about the person behind the camera, my story, and why I love photographing faith, family, and life's milestones.

📸 Explore full galleries — Browse curated sample galleries and see more than just a handful of favorite images. Get a feel for how I tell the story of an entire wedding, family session, sacrament, or event.

🤝 Book with ease — I’ve also streamlined the consultation process, with easy-to-find booking links so taking that first step is simpler than ever.

Whether you've been following along for years or you're just discovering my work, I’d love for you to take a look.

Hi friends! 👋 I’m nearing 300 followers on Instagram (wow!) and I'm over 100 here, so I thought it’d be a good time to reintroduce myself.

If you’re new here, my name is Hank.

I’m a Catholic family photographer based in Northern Virginia, and I specialize in capturing the moments that matter most — weddings, sacraments, and the everyday beauty of family life.

A little about me: I’m a husband, a dad of two, and a convert to the Catholic faith. My work is deeply rooted in that faith — because I don’t just want to take beautiful photos, I’m passionate for preserving the meaning behind them.

My journey into photography began in the middle of my IT consulting career — a fast-paced and demanding world where I found myself searching for something more meaningful. What started as a creative outlet became something deeper when a wonderful family trusted me to photograph their daughter’s Baptism.

Over the past few years, I’ve had the honor of documenting many more Baptisms, First Holy Communions, Confirmations, weddings, and family milestones across our diocese — and I’m so grateful for every family who has trusted me with their story.

If you’re new here, welcome. If you’ve been here for a while, thank you so much for being part of this journey.

Big things are coming soon — including a brand new website, some exciting new offerings, and something new I’ve been working on to help you take better photos of your own family. Stay tuned 🤍

Huge thanks to my friend (Instagram) for taking these fantastic portraits! Go check him out. He’s a phenomenal photographer as well!

Big things are happening behind the scenes!

With a break in photography jobs, I’ve been working on a complete overhaul of the website to include a smoother booking experience and exciting new offerings. I’ve also been busy planning this year’s fall mini sessions and creating something new to help you take better photos of your own family.

Make sure you’re following along so you don’t miss any announcements 👀

Joshua & Miranda don’t just smile — they light up when they’re together!

All day, it was big belly laughs, playful glances, and the kind of joy that draws everyone in. Being around them felt easy, fun, and completely genuine.

This isn’t just wedding-day happiness — it’s who they are.

Ad multos annos!

Joshua & Miranda are the kind of couple you feel instantly grateful to be around.

Warm, joyful, and effortlessly in sync — they have a way of drawing people in, especially through their shared laughter and sweet tender moments.

During getting-ready portraits, I asked Josh’s mother and father to offer a bit of wisdom to Miranda and Josh. What followed was one of my favorite moments of the day — less “formal advice” and more witty roasts, playful banter, and laughter that filled the room. It was such a perfect reflection of the love surrounding them.

It’s couples like Joshua & Miranda that make this work such a gift.

It was also a true privilege and honor to be invited to photograph their wedding in the Catholic Diocese of Richmond — no less at St Patrick's Catholic Church, the second oldest Catholic church in the city. As someone who typically serves Northern VA, DC, and Maryland, being welcomed into such a historic and faith-filled space meant a great deal.

Joshua & Miranda, I wish you a long and fruitful marriage, full of joy and laughter.

Ad multos annos!

First Holy Communion at St. Veronica Catholic School 🤍

From the parish hall to the procession, the Mass, and receiving the Eucharist for the first time, it was a day filled with quiet joy and reverence.

I shared a short recap of the day (including the Brown Scapular enrollment) over on the blog.

A rare sighting of me in front of the camera!

At the U.S. film premiere of Victory or Death Movie, I had the pleasure of interviewing some of the attendees as they exited the cinema. Listening to people process the film in real time was just as meaningful as photographing the event itself.

Big thanks to (Instagram) for capturing these for me. For those wondering, the cool gadget I’m rocking on my belt is the TriLens V2 by Frii Designs.

Very blessed and grateful to have photographed the U.S. premiere of Victory or Death Movie at the The Trump Kennedy Center a few weeks ago.

Set in 1793, the film tells the story of Catholic resistance in the Vendée during the French Revolution. As someone who was brought up in the American public school system, this story was incredibly eye-opening for me and was very powerful to see shared on a stage like this.

I highly recommend checking out this movie. It’s currently available for streaming and DVD or Blu-ray purchase at victoryordeathmovie.com and will soon be accessible on major streaming platforms.

Confirmation at St. Veronica Catholic School was filled with quiet anticipation, reverence, and some truly beautiful moments.

From gathering in the parish hall to the sacramental liturgy itself, every part of the day required intention and preparation. These are the kinds of moments you only get one chance to capture, and it’s always an honor to be entrusted with that responsibility.

I shared a behind-the-scenes look at how I approached the day, from preparation to ex*****on, over on the blog.

Honored to second shoot the Order of Christian Initiation of Children (OCIC) at Saint John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Warrenton, VA for (Instagram).

Such a beautiful reminder that the faith is alive and being passed on, one young heart at a time.
