Penn State Health Life Lion buzzing around Harrisburg International Airport (MDT) supporting the PA Air Show with two of their Airbus H-155 twin engine helicopters. During the show they provided a capabilities demonstration of the aircraft. Life Lion provides vital inter-facility (IFT) and scene critical care aeromedical transport. They serve the Susquehanna valley and beyond.

PA Air Show rehearsal Friday at the Harrisburg International Airport (MDT) under a cloudy gloomy sky. The rain held off until the U.S. Navy Blue Angels took to the skies. A little rain will not stop the diehard airshow enthusiasts from taking in the roar of the F/A-18 Super Hornets as the shred the clouds.

A few shots of circles and arrivals of the U.S. Navy Blue Angels at the PA Air Show yesterday. Unfortunately, the Saturday show has been cancelled but that leaves Sunday and Monday for sky shredding.

A few early morning air to air photos of Harford Air’s newly painted aircraft over the Susquehanna flats. The Cessna 172’s and the Piper Arrow are staples in the flight school operation. Harford Air provides flight instruction for your private pilot through multi-engine commercial ratings.

Stop by the Harford County Airport on Saturday June 6th to see the aircraft and speak with Kevin and the gang at the Car Show and Fly-In.

Emergency personnel from across Maryland gathered to participate in the Search and Rescue Exercise (SAREX). The exercise featured simulated real-life emergencies across 20 square miles of air, land, and water in Central Maryland, highlighting the interoperability and coordinated capabilities of the state’s first responders. We observed two water-based response scenarios. The first involved an aircraft down in the waters off Strawberry Point, during which responders demonstrated effective coordination between air, marine, and dive teams to locate and recover victims. The second scenario involved simulated residents trapped in their homes due to high floodwaters, requiring swift-water rescue operations and coordinated evacuation efforts. In both scenarios, responders emphasized communication, teamwork, and adherence to safety protocols to ensure efficient and effective operations.

An often overlooked location at SUN 'n FUN is Choppertown. Located on the eastern edge of airfield. If you know us, you certainly know we would have to visit. The Marine Veteran marshaling the aircraft in was having a blast. Great guy to talk with and flat out loved volunteering.
