The Abbey Bar and Moon Peak Productions are proud to announce the Abbey Bar Toy Drive taking place during the entire month of November at the venue.
Anyone who comes to The Abbey Bar knows our incredible bartender Alexa Townsley. She’s been the face of our bar for the past 2+ years and we love having her on staff at the venue. When Alexa isn’t serving drinks at rockin’ shows, she is a full time 1st grade teacher at Sylvan Heights Science Charter School. This year they got some unfortunate news…
They recently learned that the local toy-share program who they have worked with annually has shut down their Harrisburg-area program and will no longer be able to supply toys for their students. This program has become an important source of support for families who rely on the program to help make Christmas morning special for their children. For many students, the gifts from this program were the only gifts under the tree.
We strive to do whatever we can to support our local community. So, for the month of November all of our events will serve as a drop-off location for donations to help fill the void their school is facing this year.
Items requested include:
New, unwrapped toys
Gift cards to local stores to be used for purchasing toys
Winter clothing
Books and coloring books
Craft supplies
All donations should be age appropriate for children in grades K - 4
We at Moon Peak Productions truly appreciate the work of all teachers, and to be able to help Alexa’s students have a nice holiday season is incredibly important to us. Any toy, book, gift card, or craft supplies donated makes a difference, and with your help we can make a big difference in the lives of some families in our community.
Event dates and times to drop off:
