Long post ahead with a little update and reflection.
I am notoriously bad at posting on social media and there’s actually a reason for that that I’m going to explain.
For months now, I’ve felt really convicted about sharing photos of other people’s children publicly. I love my clients, I love their families, and I LOVE getting to share the beautiful moments I get to capture for them. But the more I thought about it, the more uncomfortable I became with putting their children’s faces on a completely public page.
Especially now, with AI and technology changing so quickly.
And I kept coming back to the same thought: my clients didn’t hire me to be my marketing. They hired me because they trusted me to come into their lives, photograph their families, and preserve these really special, private moments for them. That trust means so much more to me than posting to gain business.
I’ve also been praying a lot about my business and the direction I’m supposed to take it. I truly believe God gave me this gift of photography for a reason, and I don’t want to build this business by ignoring that little voice telling me that something doesn’t sit right with me.
So moving forward, things will look a bit different! I will be covering faces and sharing my work in a way that is more comfortable to me and protecting the privacy of my families.
But please know that a quiet page does not mean a quiet business!
I am still blessed to have a very booked schedule and that’s all thanks to each and every one of you who have tagged me in a post, referred me to a friend, and trusted me with your own families moments.
Thank you for always supporting me and hopefully now that I’ve made this decision and moved past this barrier I’ll be able to post a little more regularly as we enter the busy fall season!
