Why do I always push for engagement sessions? Because to me, engagement sessions matter. When your wedding day comes and I walk in, you already know me. We’ve already laughed together, figured out what feels natural, and gotten past the awkward part. The camera is just there. That’s the whole point.

San Francisco City Hall is one of those locations that looks like a dream and shoots like a puzzle. And I mean that in the best way.

Here’s what I want every couple to know before they book it. Very early morning spots are best. That morning light in the corridor is unmatched and the space is still yours for a few minutes before the day takes over. Because it WILL take over. This is one of the busiest wedding venues in the country and on any given morning there are dozens of couples getting married here. The air is electric. Everyone is dressed up, everyone is emotional, everyone is having the best day of their life all at the same time.

Mentally prepare yourself because patience and time is very important here. Certain spots have a wait time. It’s important that your photographer knows the building, knows the light, knows when to move and how to work fast when the moment opens up.

I could go on and on about this location but I’ll save it for a blog post. But if City Hall is on your list, let’s talk. :)
