I think I’m falling in love with portraiture all over again. 💚

Give me a person, a place that feels like them, a couple of outfit changes, a favorite book, and time to wander around and make something together.

Meg’s senior session was exactly that.

We photographed her among the architecture, tucked her into a giant green couch with a book, wandered outside, changed outfits, and just let the session become hers.

I don’t want every portrait to be someone looking at my camera and smiling. I want personality. I want the quiet moments and the weird little ideas and the images that actually feel like the person in them.

I want to do more of this. A lot more of this.

So if you’ve been wanting portraits of yourself but “stand here and smile” isn’t really your thing... hi. 👋

You deserve to be seen. 💚

Sumner and Atlas made their own wedding rings, which is already ridiculously cool. And apparently that wasn’t enough DIY permanence for one wedding, because Sumner also got his first-ever tattoo. 😂

From handmade rings to matching ink, this wedding was full of the weird, wonderful, deeply personal choices that make me look at a gallery years later and immediately remember exactly whose wedding it was.

And yes, the camper is a bar. 🍸

More weddings that break the rules, please. 💚

There are wedding days that feel completely, unmistakably like the people getting married. This was one of them. 💚

Sumner and Atlas were married surrounded by the woods and mountains of the Adirondacks at Skye Farm Camp, then we traded the aisle for the lake and a few canoes. Nothing overly formal, nothing that felt like it belonged to anyone else's wedding. Just a day built around who they are and the people they love.

This is exactly why I love photographing weddings that don't feel like they're following a script.

I've been feeling really drawn back to portraiture lately.

Not just taking a beautiful photo of someone, but slowing down enough to really see the person in front of my camera. Playing with expression, light, composition, and all the little things that can make a portrait feel like them.

Miranda's senior portrait session at Central Park in Schenectady gave me so much room to do exactly that. We wandered through the Rose Garden, made some beautiful images, and I walked away remembering just how much I love this kind of work.

I think you'll be seeing a lot more individual portraiture from me. 💚

If you've been wanting portraits of yourself for no reason other than you deserve to exist in the photographs too, consider this your sign.

There are DJs who play music, and then there are DJs who create an atmosphere.

I've had the chance to work alongside DJ Trumastr at several events, and every time I'm reminded why people keep hiring him. He's incredibly talented behind the decks, brings an infectious energy to every room, and somehow knows exactly what a crowd needs before they do.

As a photographer, I love working with vendors who genuinely care about giving clients an unforgettable experience. DJ Trumastr is absolutely one of those people.

If you're planning a wedding, gala, fundraiser, or celebration and want a dance floor that actually stays full, he's someone I'd recommend without hesitation.

There is no greater compliment than hearing that someone felt comfortable enough to simply be themselves in front of our cameras.

Creating beautiful photos is important, but creating an experience where you can relax, laugh, and actually enjoy your session matters just as much to us.
