Another perfect wedding day at Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens 🌿🤍💍Abbey & Paul had family and friends who traveled from near and far to help celebrate them, and they brought the best energy to the dance floor that night. It also helped that there were not just 1 but 2 saxophones that night keeping the vibes up!

Congratulations to the Mackeys 💕

Waking up in the dark, being greeted by a bear in the park, and getting married before you see the sun is an amazing way to start your wedding day 💕Lexie and Anthony had their ceremony at sunrise in front of Ganoga Falls at Rickett's Glen State Park. No one else was in the park yet, so they had the trails and waterfalls all to themselves. They crossed the rocks to stand in the center of the creek with the falls placed beautifully behind them for their ceremony, and although they hadn't written their vows in advance, a little spontaneity never hurt anyone! So they said what they felt right in the moment. It may have been chilly, and their shoes and clothes may have gotten dirty, but small inconveniences float away when you're having your best day ever.

This weekend, they'll celebrate with their family and friends back home in New Jersey, but May 12 was a day just for them to enjoy each other's presence in a peaceful, beautiful place they can call their own now.

Congratulations to the DiRosas✨

Jon & Hope closed on their first home bought together in the same week they got married, so it was an incredibly special place for them to have their portraits taken. Telling a story is an important aspect of what I do, and I love that these moments get to play a part in the story of their wedding day.

Congratulations, Hope & Jon 🤍🥂🍾

Sarah & Lachy shared an incrediblen journey all the way from Australia to Scotland to get married in front of the snowcapped Cuillin Mountains on the Isle of Skye. Lachy's family roots began in Scotland generations before, so they felt a strong
calling to this destination for their wedding day.

It began as probably the sunniest day Scotland has ever seen, thanks to the tradition of burying a sausage the night before your wedding. And just before we
arrived at their ceremony site near Sligachan, the clouds came to add a little moodiness to the atmosphere.

Their ceremony was beautifully performed by Rona the Humanist with personalized touches throughout it, and they tied the knot in a handfasting
ceremony with a piece of tartan fabric.

Being able to document this experience felt incredibly special, and I'm so grateful they chose me to help them create such a meaningful moment in their lives.

Congratulations to the new Mr. & Mrs. Trimingham 🤍

Your annual reminder - engagement sessions aren't just for social media content and save-the-dates.

They allow me to get to know you better as a couple, how you interact with each other, and how best to photograph you.

They allow you to get used to being in front of the camera, how I work, and what you like and don't like about being photographed.

It's a learning experience for everyone, and ensures that your portraits on the wedding day go as successfully as possible.

And bonus points for Wild North Weddings couples - they're included in your big wedding package 🙌🏼

After photographing weddings for over a decade, I’ve noticed something:

It’s not the big things couples regret… it’s how their wedding day felt.

Feeling rushed.
Trying to make everyone else happy.
Not having time to actually be present with each other.

The good news is that almost all of it is avoidable with the right approach.

I wrote a blog post breaking down the most common wedding day regrets I see (and what to do differently so you actually enjoy your day).

If you’re in the middle of planning, this is 100% worth the read.

It’s not the act of getting married that people regret, but a lot of couples quietly regret how their wedding day felt, and how their planning experience went. When most people start planning a wedding, they picture something fun and exciting. They imagine picking out details they love, bonding wi...

Planning an elopement and not sure where to go — or what time of year is best?

One of the most exciting parts of eloping is choosing a place that truly fits your vision. Whether you're dreaming of cherry blossoms in Japan, mountain adventures in Switzerland, fall colors in New England, or a tropical winter elopement in Hawaii, every season offers incredible places to celebrate.

I just published a new guide featuring some of the best places to elope in every season, with locations across the U.S. and around the world.

If you're in the early stages of planning and looking for inspiration, this is a great place to start.

You can read the full guide here:

Not sure where to elope, or what time of year is best? One of the biggest advantages of planning an elopement is the freedom to choose a location and season that truly fits your vision. Whether you’re dreaming of exchanging vows beneath spring wildflowers, hiking to an alpine overlook in the summer...

One of the biggest misconceptions about eloping?

That you “just go home” after the ceremony.

Like it ends quietly.
Like it’s less of a celebration.

In reality? The celebration just looks different, and often more intentional.

Some of my couples:
• Book a private chef and have a candlelit dinner at their cabin
• Reserve a cozy private dining room at a local restaurant
• Host one long, emotional dinner with their closest people
• Pop champagne at brunch the next morning
• Or keep it just the two of them… slow, quiet, and romantic

And some celebrate intimately on their trip — then throw a casual party back home later with everyone they love.

That’s the beauty of an intimate wedding day. You get to decide:

Big dinner or quiet night?
Private chef or pizza in your comfy clothes?
Champagne tower or coffee at sunrise?

There’s no “right” way to end an elopement day.
There’s only the way that feels aligned for you.

And honestly? When couples realize they can celebrate however they want, that’s when the stress disappears.

If you were eloping, how would you end your day? Romantic dinner? Big family meal? Something totally unexpected? Tell me below. 🤍

Elopements are all about the experience, and your experience can be greatly affected by what you wear on your wedding day.

If you're looking for guidance, this post is filled with tips and helpful information to ensure you feel as good as you look on your wedding day, alternatives to the traditional wedding wear, and tips for how to pack and travel with your clothes to your destination.

Choosing what's right to wear for your elopement can be a difficult task, but here are some helpful tips and ideas to help make you feel and look great on your wedding day.

When I photograph your details, I don’t bring a styling kit.

No extra ribbons. No velvet ring boxes. No mirrors, trays, or backdrops pulled from my car.

And that’s intentional.

Because your wedding photos should reflect your actual day — not something I manufactured to make it look like someone else’s.

If your rings are placed on a rock overlooking the mountains, that’s part of your story. If your invitation is photographed on the cabin table where you got ready, that matters. If your bouquet rests on the same wood railing you leaned on before your ceremony — that’s real.

I use what you bring.
I use what the environment gives us.
I pay attention to light, texture, and meaning.

The result? Detail photos that feel personal, grounded, and true to you — not over-orchestrated.

If you’re someone who cares more about authenticity than aesthetics for aesthetics’ sake… we’ll get along just fine 🤍
