Actor headshots shouldn’t feel like picture day.

Especially for young performers.

I want my student and actor clients to feel comfortable enough to show me the different sides of their personality—the confidence, warmth, intensity, humor and individuality that casting professionals need to see.

We take our time. We change things up. We talk about what the images need to accomplish. And yes…we have fun while we’re doing it.

This review from J. Hurtado says it perfectly: flexible, encouraging and fun. That’s exactly what I want the experience to be.

A great headshot should do more than look good.

The goal isn’t to turn you into someone else. It’s to capture the expression, energy and personality you already bring into the room.

That’s why I guide my actors through everything from wardrobe and background choices to expression and subtle changes in body position—so we can create a variety of looks without losing the person at the center of them.

A senior portrait session can be bright and colorful in one moment, dramatic and moody in the next, and completely natural somewhere in between.

That's one of the things I love about creating a custom senior portrait experience.

We're not choosing a photography style and trying to make your senior fit into it.

We're figuring out who your senior is — and creating photographs around them.

Their personality.
Their interests.
Their style.
And sometimes a side of themselves they didn't even know they wanted photographed.

Senior portraits should tell us something about the person in them.

For this image, I didn’t just photograph what was already there — I styled the entire scene around something she loves.

The chef hat.
The apron.
The oversized bowl.
The whisk.

Every piece was chosen to make the portrait feel playful, personal and completely hers.

That’s one of my favorite parts of a custom senior portrait session: we can take an interest, hobby, talent or dream and turn it into something that feels more like a portrait than a “picture with a prop.”

Because senior year is about so much more than how someone looks at 17 or 18.

It’s about who they are right now.

And that deserves to be photographed, too.
