I have so many sessions to share with you all from this past summer and fall. Sometimes I sit so long with my thoughts of which session to post next that I don’t post anything. I’m sure many of you can relate.

Every year I feel the pull to document families grow. To see kids grow and change. To find the beauty in the chaos. I’m adding more home sessions and weekend offerings in the next year ahead and will continue to share some favorites from this past year.

Also, how sweet are Devan and Eric’s children?! I photographed their wedding in 2019 and love watching them grow into this family of four.

She’s from Michigan. He’s from Norway. They met overseas, and crossed paths again in a different country. And haven’t stopped traveling since.

These two have a shared, deep faith. They have a shared, deep love for their loved ones.

Married at Sophia’s grandparent’s farm under a sunny September sky, these two brought together all of their best people to celebrate with them and dance the night away.

To capture family together is always special. To capture family together when they start having their own families is a feat of schedule coordination. Outfit selections. Nap time adherence.

The Vollink family is forever special to me. They share a close bond and love each other fiercely 🤍

A wedding on the precipice of fall. That inbetween time where a sun soaked garden still smells like August but the breeze tells you that the leaves will be turning soon. That was how Katie and Colby ushered in their marriage in Northern Michigan last month and it was glorious.

A rollercoaster of big emotions all day long with these two. Tears down the aisle, cheers during their choreographed dance and so much laughter interwoven in between. A real joy to be a part of their wedding day.

September might just be my most favorite month to be along the shores of Lake Michigan. School is back in session, long beach days are part of our summer memories. But the shore still beckons and the solitude of it makes it feel like it’s all yours.

This family lives near this beach and their kids are at home among the sand and dunes. I loved this session last month.

I have so many sessions from this past summer and fall (spring?!) that I will be sharing in the months ahead. During that slow stretch of winter that has me wishing for more September beach nights.

On this last day of September…the last month that still embraces warm weather and a dip in the lake…a look back before we settle into the inevitable.

This year’s senior sessions have been some of my favorites yet. Devin wanted his session at Holland State Park and I’ll be honest…I never photograph here. And now I’m thinking I need to photograph here a lot more often. The rocks and the grasses. The channel and sailboats. It was a vibe and I left happy and snagged a Tommy Turtle sundae on the way home from Captain Sundae.

Devin, his mom and I laughed the entire session. Relished the late summer heat and the golden light.

Senior sessions are the best sessions and summer forever ✌️
