Back on Familiar Rails. The final stretch of Union Pacific "Big Boy" 4014's east coast tour took place in Colorado. Big Boy is no stranger to this territory, having wrapped up multiple previous journeys on this exact route. It was very fun to see friends out east chase and photograph Big Boy in their neck of the woods. One can dream that an east coast steam star can return the favor one day. July 27 & 29, 2026.

A Brief Moment of Autumn Steam. On the first day of the Colorado Railroad Museum's Harvest Haunt celebration in 2025, plans had to be changed due to high winds. The Single Static Sister. While Rio Grande Southern 20 and Denver & Rio Grande Western 315 were putting on a show, Denver & Rio Grande Western 318 could only watch on from the roundhouse.
