Managed to snag some photos of the BNSF Employee Appreciation Special during its time in Denver. The train was bookended by locomotives 1776 and 2026, which were recently painted with a new scheme commemorating the 250th anniversary of the United States. Personally, these are my favorite commemerative units to come out this year. June 1, 2026

The Gold Belt Line Reunited in Golden. For a second time in 2026, a fallen flag was resurrected in Colorado. Engines 20, 315, and 318 were all rostered on the Florence & Cripple Creek Railroad before they were sold off to their respective railroads. Thanks to collaboration between the Colorado Railroad Museum and the Durango Railroad Historical Society, these three locomotives were finally able to share the same rails again, and for a brief couple days, the Gold Belt Line was alive once more. May 16, 2026

The beginning of a very special journey. Union Pacific "Big Boy" 4014 departed Cheyenne on Memorial Day with its sights set on the east coast of the US. This will be the first time the world's largest operating steam engine will venture beyond Chicago, and go as far as Philadelphia. Best of luck to friends and fellow photographers who will brave the crowds to witness history. May 25, 2026
