Love this crew! I had to go back in the archives to see how many sessions we’ve had and my heart was so full. They book me every year, the same week, and it’s always a stunner of a sunset. I hope everyone’s having a relaxing LDW, soaking in those last beach days with cooler temps!

Happy Friday everyone! Here’s a visual reminder that studio family sessions are not just for newborns or the winter months. At the end of this session, it was like music to my ears to hear mom say “that was so easy!”

Yes, we live in an absolutely beautiful area. Yes, our outdoor season is limited for outside photos. BUT the studio is a great option for all. Temperature controlled, no bugs, not weather dependent, a contained space for little ones that love to run off (yet enough space to be fun and silly!) and nothing overstimulating (think wind, sand, bugs, crowds) just my beautiful white canvas studio which allows you to wear what you want, have fun and not worry about rain dates, cleaning your home or having to wash off sandy feet or smelly bug spray (iykyk)

OH and we have music 🎶

I’ve been reflecting this rainy morning on how amazing of a summer we have had in New England. I think I’ve only rescheduled 2 sessions due to rain. Despite the heat waves, we have had quite the beautiful summer. Tomorrow is certainly not the end of summer, but for many it’s back to school, the sun is setting earlier, and it’s getting a little cooler outside. I’m so ready for fall sessions, but September is very much a beach month for me (12 to be exact!) and I’ll be back at this stunning location for more minis (with one spot left! 😉) here’s to the last few official weeks of summer and hopefully just as beautiful of a fall season!

I’ll never say no to a location request at Lynch Park! The second we arrived at the rose garden, this little lady booked it for a view of the ocean. Lucky for her, we got to experience both! Watching her explore the grounds and ooh and ahh at all the different flowers was so magical! We even had time to end our session on the beach where she was all about tossing rocks and shells into the ocean and splashing in the water. I always follow kids lead, especially when the session falls on their birthday 🎂

someone really wise reminded me before this session “what if it will be ok no matter what?” I couldn’t really wrap my brain around that because I’m such a type A person when it comes to my work. I need to know it will go perfectly. I need to be prepared and I like to have lots of experience where I’m taking photos. How boring 🤪 and yet I call myself a creative. Last night I let go and let life happen and I have no words. No words, but lots of photos that tell the story and a sun setting into the ocean that took our breath away ☀️

It’s that time of year where I become a part time meteorologist 🤪 I can’t believe how beautiful this night turned out when just 24 hours earlier to the session it was predicted to rain. I am so thankful for flexible clients that trust my judgement. I know it’s no easy feat to get ready, get your family ready and mentally prepare for photos that get rained out. Or worse! The weather predicts rain but then the sun pops out. Soon enough those lush green dunes will turn yellow and there will be pops of foliage on the beach … but not yet! It’s still summer ☀️ I’ll be ocean side all week long soaking in that salt air, warm breeze and lush greens (and yes this is me manifesting NO rain until at least Friday!)

This was a fun one ✨ I last saw this family when the middle bro was just a baby! Now there’s 3 that are cute as can be. I also don’t think I’ve ever had the light change so much during one session- we started with glowy sunlight followed by storm clouds by the water and ended with a perfect sunset with pink and orange tones. It’s wild here in New England, but we roll with it!

What pulls at your heart strings? Is it the perfectly posed family portrait? The in-between moments? Candid joy? I always try to capture a variety of all of the above for your galleries because I find each one special. Buuut I think we all know what I love and its the moments I surprise myself with, the poses that happen organically, the unfolding that happens when I guide your family into a pose and something unexpected and beautiful happens. Theres no wrong way or time to have family photos, just come as you are and I promise no matter the stage of life you’re in, it will be worth documenting ❤️

The most joyful maternity session I have ever documented! I first met this family when they were expecting their first born, right here at the beach. It was so fun and an honor to be asked to document this special time all over again where our photography journey began. Big sister’s personality was the star of the show, and her loving parents followed her lead, which led to the most beautiful, candid moments I have ever captured. It’s true all you have to do is show up, go with the flow, love on your family and the results will be magic 🪄

This post is so cringe for me 😣 but I saw this trend for posting texts from clients and wanted to give it my own spin. I’m definitely my harshest critic. I worry way more than I should and I’m not even sure I fully take in the praise that is sent my way because I’m in such a panic state sending galleries over. My work is my art and I put so much time and effort in from the session to meticulous editing. I love photography and I love editing even more. To get these love notes means the world to me and I need to remember to revisit them when I’m spiraling over a million things on this silly app 🤪 and hopefully putting these reviews out to the world shows that it’s worth investing in me, because how else will you know? And I’m definitely not the only one with an inner critic!
