During my recent newborn session, I asked mom if she wanted nursing pics.
She said she’d love to—but the baby doesn’t really latch without a shield.
She wasn’t in the right clothes.
So I said, “No worries. Let’s just pretend. No pressure. No expectations.”

We staged it. Just for the photo.

And then…

he latched.

Three weeks old. The first time it had ever happened.

She started to cry. I nearly did too.

This wasn’t planned. This wasn’t posed.
This was a little pocket of magic that snuck in when no one was trying too hard.

This is why I do what I do.
For the moments that matter more than the photos ever could.
