This handsome little fella turned 2! How time flies. It feels like just yesterday I was photographing his momma while he was still in her belly. 🤍

It is such an honor to be a part of all these milestones. But what I don't think about often enough is that these portraits will keep bringing happiness for years and years to come. Little pieces of the most personal artwork you could ever have hanging in your home.

One day he'll be grown, but this little two-year-old version of him will still be right there.

I don't think about that nearly enough, but THAT right there is the true honor of what I get to do.

Something you won't see with my photos....

Sincerely, an artist who spent years honing her craft, earning her masters and takes pride in her work.

Also this is photoshop level one, literally, to create such effects is not crazy witchcraft. Takes very little effort to learn and guess what, much less water wasted... 🤷🏼‍♀️

I met this beautiful young lady recently through one of my son's school friends. When her mother opened up about the bullying she has been experiencing at school because of her Mexican heritage, the momma bear in me came out!

It is sad how many girls I have had in my studio, all sharing the same story.... I will always do my little part to remind these girls of their beauty, their strength and everything that makes them uniquely them.

But can we all please teach our children DECENCY? Children are gonna make mistakes, but racism is absolutely learned! Please teach them that someone's heritage, skin color, accent or culture is never something to make them feel ashamed of.

And how boring and grey would life be if we all looked, acted and believed the same? I for once would not feel inspired to take photographs.

Thank you Rienne Asalee Phillips for your magical touch and talent! Let me tell you, she is such a vital part of making these sessions what they are. It's not just her hair and makeup skills, it's how she makes people feel. She is such an important part of the entire experience for everyone involved. 🤍

"This is the first photo of me since having my son that makes me feel like my old me again, in the best way."

I think, we all know what that means. I can't think of a single woman in my circle who hasn't given beyond her limits at some point.

Nurturing is in our nature, and it's a beautiful trait. But finding the balance has probably been one of my biggest struggles in life.

We give to our children. Our careers. We care for a sick loved one, show up for a friend who needs us, support our partners, build our businesses... and sometimes we give and give until we barely recognize ourselves anymore.

I had to learn that caring for myself isn't selfish. I also had to become more selective about where I spend my energy. There are things, habits and people that pour back into us, and there are others that only drain us. Knowing the difference is an art form I still haven't fully mastered.

Maybe that's why what she said about this portrait meant so much to me.

There is something really special about watching my muses light up in front of my camera. And then, after I've spent hours turning her portrait into a piece of art, hearing that she looks at it and sees herself again.

Not just a mom, a wife or partner... a career woman or the roles she fills for everyone else.

Her.

That fulfills the entire reason I create this kind of portraiture.

Come see me if you feel like it is your turn to be my muse. 🤍

My new page is in the works, but until then, I will share my most recent commercial photos here! :)

Over the past few months, I have more and more gotten into branding sessions and commercial photography and I absolutely love the workflow.

So I will be doing more under a different, specialized brand which I will announce soon.

Also, will you just check out this one of a kind getaway????

Bringing this one back from a few years ago because if there was ever a day for her to make another appearance, it’s Lionsgate. ✨🦁

Remember beautiful souls, while you don't need a special day to step into your power, I want to use the occasion today and invite you to remember that you are loved, worthy and deserve all the good in life.

Claim your truth, walk the path and align it with your dreams.

Here’s to becoming more and more of the version of you know you’re meant to be. ✨

The older I get, the more I realize that life isn't really made up of the big milestones. It's made up of ordinary seasons that become extraordinary memories.
Little sticky hands that reach for you, the sleepy cuddles... The stage where they still fit perfectly in your arms.

For me today, these moments already belong to another chapter of life and I ache for the time my kids were that little all while enjoying the what is now.

I wish I would have created an image like this for myself when my kids were that age but I am so happy that you, Brooklyn, get to treasure this moment forever.

And while I can't time travel, I NOW can create a peaceful, intimate photo for myself with my children that fits our current chapter. Bc, I already know before I blink, we all will have outgrown this one too.🤍

Do you remember, when you were little and people asked you: What do you want to be when you grow up?

This little girl here, she has the dream of becoming a model and actress. It's funny, bc that was my dream as a child.

So I modeled in my 20s. I was in music videos, commercials... And then had so many ideas of my own, that I wanted to create and be behind the lens. Sometimes in self portrait sessions, but more often with others.

While I had gained a lot of confidence and experience through modeling, seeing the shift in my subjects made me feel like a proud momma. Most start out feeling a little nervous or self critical but after a short time, that shifts to being relaxed, enjoying the session and feeling empowered.

That is my WHY I create for others! BC when you have a picture to look back on and are remembering the feeling you had during the session, that is something no one can take away from you again! At my lowest points in life, I was able to look back on my photos, straightened my crown, and remembered my power. 👑

I have no doubt that you, sweet Sparrow, will make it as far as you want in life. And as a photographer who has worked with many talents, you truly have what it takes!

I can't wait to see where your journey will take you! 🤍

It’s been a while since we created together…

Life shifted, seasons changed, and time moved faster than expected. But stepping back into this space today felt like coming home and at the same time like we never missed a beat.

I really missed us! 💖✨💖
