What I’d Buy for Family Photos: Target Edition 🎯

Family photos coming up this fall? I did a Target run and pulled some of my favorite outfit options for mom, kids, and dad. 🤎

Brown, cream, and blue seem to be everywhere this season, and they make such an easy, timeless palette for family photos.

A little styling tip while you shop: look for texture! Silky fabrics, soft sweaters, denim, knits, and other textured pieces add so much dimension in photos. Simple, classic patterns can work beautifully too — especially when the rest of the family is kept fairly neutral.

Save this for your next Target run or send it to someone planning family photos this fall. ✨

Here are 5 things I think are worth the $$- newborn edition, and no camera gear included!

1- Newborn photography outfits- ones that you get from specific retailers like the cute waffle onesie shown here by and the most beautiful knitted romper by What you have your babies wear will make such a huge difference in your photos. Outfits made specifically to use for newborn photography always look and pose better than those you can find at your local stores.

2. The ! This thing has saved me so many times! You can adjust the noise level and it comes in handy as white noise or if you need to soothe baby during the session! Shushing can get exhausting, let this do the hard work for you!

3. Soft, cozy blankets with beautiful texture from These are absolutely gorgeous in photos and give those calm, cozy vibes you’re looking for 🩷

4. Posing aides! I love these ones from they are firm, but also soft enough to support baby! These are game changers 👌

5. Education! I can’t talk about this enough. I get asked all the time during my newborn sessions how I learned to do it. While I am a mom myself, learning newborn photography definitely requires skills beyond just knowing how to hold and care for a baby. I’ve learned the most by doing mentorships and workshops with and as well as doing online education through .education
