It's hard to put into words what being a part of this incredible event that is the Keuring means to me. This breed, for my non-horsey peeps is the Friesian. If you have seen a magical black hairy horse in a movie under saddle or pulling a carriage, it is highly likely this picturesque breed that originates from the Netherlands. This is one of just a few horse breeds that has very prestigious evaluations to maintain breed standards. This breed is responsible for me falling back in love with riding as an adult.

Everything about this event was once again equine photographer heaven - the most stunning facility Pineland Farms Equestrian Center, the most perfect blue skies and backdrop, and then the most enchanting horses that for another year were garnering some of the highest evaluations the breed has to offer.

It speaks to the breeders and trainers in New England who are producing these outstanding animals. It's hard not be in awe, as well as multiple times tear up when the judges announced predicates to mares, babies, and a stud.

I feel so stupidly lucky to have been part of it again this year. THANK YOU to the incredible club that is Northeast Friesian Horse Council for having me!
