(1)

My name is Alannah Finn, and I'm the photographer behind Birth Body Photography. My full time job is raising my three sons alongside my husband on our little homestead. I love to garden, sip a nice hot cup of coffee, and just be with my family. I am passionate about pregnancy, birth, and postpartum and am so excited to photograph these most precious moments for you!

🌿 G O D D E S S 🌿

What a gift it is to create for the sake of creating.
For celebration.
For fun.

It's time to tend to my inner artist and treat her with care. It's time to gather with those who wish to co-create. To connect with those who are up for a little artistic adventure with me, my paints and brushes, and at the end of it all, my camera.

Not gonna lie, it took me (what felt like) an exceptionally long time to make this piece of fabric look that way. I had a thought in my head and didn't fully consider that other factors, like gravity for example, would interfere with the ex*****on of the vision. But that's what ends up being fun about trying new things together- we're literally just playing around. Testing things out. Seeing what works. What looks cool.

So stunning.

Thanks for being my muse ✨

The end of pregnancy is pretty crazy isn't it? I've always described it as a bit of a mind f*ck. You don't know how long you have left, your body is probably really spent and stretched more than you thought possible, the waiting can drive you mad.
Am I ready?
What will my baby be like?
Do I have all of the supplies I need?
Have I set myself up for success postpartum?
Is my house clean enough?
Will my birth experience be what I've been dreaming of?
Is my partner prepared to support me how I need?
So many unknowns.
But you know what? It'll be ok. You and your baby are the perfect team. You are strong and capable and wise and have instincts for a reason.
Will it be hard? Probably.
Can you do hard things? Hell yeah.

ps. can't wait to see you all in this greenhouse for the bare body project coming up on the 16th! 🌿

It's International Day of the Midwife!
While all midwives out there deserve recognition and love today and everyday, I want to give a shout out to one in particular.
Morgan Gaines cared for me during my twin pregnancy and postpartum and I am so unbelievably grateful. Countless texts and voice messages. So many questions. So many unknows. So much to process. And through it all, she was a steady. She didn't send me on my way when we learned there was a second baby in my belly. She helped steer me back to myself, time and time again. She reminded me that I matter, and I need to be taken care of too.
And even now, over a year postpartum, I am still texting her (like literally just a couple hours ago) asking for words of wisdom.
Morgan, you truly mean so much to me. You have made such an impact on my life, both in sharing space at births, and in my own personal experience with you as my midwife.
Thank you for your friendship, care, honesty, and wisdom. Thank you for giving so much of yourself to others. To me. To my family.
Sending you so much love 🖤

If you’re looking for pregnancy sessions that are a little different, you’ve come to the right place.
I specialize in n**e, creative, artistic portraits that celebrate you and your growing belly.
When sessions are collaborative and there is an openness to trying different ideas “for the sake of the photo”, oftentimes the results are more than we could have imagined. And, not only are the results show stopping, but the time together during the session itself is 🔥🫶🏼

The Bare Body Project is back and coming to the East Pine greenhouse in Windham on May 16th!

We will be held by plants and warmth and the best vibes. And most importantly, each other. From 11am-2pm we will spend time together creating impactful, meaningful photo magic!

This shoot is a safe space. A sacred space. A space to be SEEN. A space to be free. A space with no judgement. A space for celebration. A space for us to be vulnerable together, to create art together, to send a message together. A message that says to the world - my body is GOOD. My body is not flawed. My body is beautiful and strong and amazing just as it is. Today. Right now.

My hopes and dreams for this project are to normalize normal bodies and to celebrate them. To create a safe space for vulnerability and love. To challenge the societal norms that have encouraged us to take up as little space as possible, to challenge diet and bounce back culture. To create art with amazing humans.

🌿We will meet at the greenhouse at East Pine Plant Shop, 213 Roosevelt Trail in Windham at 11:00am on May 16th.

🌿Cost to participate is your time and consent to share the images(no names or personal info) from our time together. This is currently a donation based project. Donations are greatly appreciated and can be made via Venmo @ af_207 No one will be turned away for lack of funds.

🌿 Limited spots available. Don’t wait to claim yours! If you decide to join and end up not being able to come, no problem. Just reach out asap to let me know so I can open your spot up to someone else!

🌿Come as you are✨

D A Y D R E A M

I'm learning that the longer creative ideas sit inside my head, the more f*cked up I feel. There is an unsteadiness and a sense of unfinished business. Thankfully this daydream didn't have to stay hidden in the depths of my mind for long.
I was sitting on the couch nursing one of my twins, pondering on the upcoming warm weather, the past clients who I knew were currently pregnant again (there are quite a few!), what the future may hold for Birth Body. The vision, ya know?
I was suddenly finding myself in a very vivid, specific daydream. I could picture it so clearly! The tub. The wet hair. The bright sunshine coming through the windows. I saw her. Her smile and her growing belly.
I had to reach out.
Now, this isn't typically how I do "business". I don't seek people out and pitch ideas to them hoping they'll be interested and on board.
Maybe it's time to change that. Maybe this year will look a little different.
Because let me tell you...it was perfect. It was fun, collaborative, low pressure, and absolutely stunning. We laughed, we talked, we tried things out for creativities sake. We aimed to make my daydream a reality. We did that, and so much more.

When things get a little tricky and you must spend the remainder of your pregnancy in the hospital, please know that I am still here for you. We can still honor and celebrate this sacred time by making photo magic together. While it may look a little different than you imaged, it's still worth documenting.
You can always book me for pregnancy sessions, even if you find yourself in a hospital bed.
