When someone dies, our duty as Catholics does not end. 🕊️
On All Souls’ Day, we are reminded of one of the greatest acts of charity we can offer those who have gone before us: praying for the repose of their souls.
As Catholics, we believe in the importance of praying for the faithful departed, entrusting their souls to the infinite love and mercy of God. Our prayers matter. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass matters. And even in death, our love for one another continues through prayer.
This beautiful homily from Father Jorge Cruz at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Fresno, California, is a powerful reminder that we must never forget the souls of the departed, especially those in purgatory who are being purified in preparation for Heaven.
