Photography should capture all the feelings in a single moment. From the lighting of a sunset to joy and love, a good photograph should convey what transpired. As a portrait photographer, I've spent the last 15 years capturing corporate events, fundraisers, families, engagements, weddings, formal events, birthday parties, headshots, seniors, and children. I'd love to be part of the journey you'd l

Our kiddo had surgery today (all planned - no worries!) and it’s all hands on deck to focus on mending. For the next two weeks I’m mama first, photographer second. If you have an immediate need I can make an incredible local referral. Alternatively I can schedule you for my return to office in early November. This does not impact rentals if you have one on the books.
🤓
If you have an outstanding gallery, I’ll be getting those to you as planned.
😉
Thanks for your love and support! Day 1… let’s go!

Lately, I’ve felt the tug of constant busyness—the never-ending deadlines, the to-do lists, the “always on” mindset. I’m learning that intentionality matters. Slowing down and protecting my time and energy isn’t about doing less—it’s about creating space to do my best work and show up fully in every area of life.

As Stephen Covey said, “The key is in not spending time, but in investing it.”

✨ Everyday moments slip by so quickly—and I often catch myself wishing I had pulled out more than just my phone. Don’t get me wrong, phone photos are beautiful reminders of the now. But when it comes to the milestones, the emotions, and the little details you’ll want to look back on years from now…that’s where professional documentation makes all the difference.

It’s not about choosing one or the other. It’s about balance—cherishing your everyday phone snaps while also carving out space for the moments that deserve to be remembered in a lasting, intentional way.

When you’re deciding if a moment should be captured professionally, weigh things like:
⏳Significance – Is this a milestone, tradition, or “last time” moment?
🫶🏼Emotion – Will you want to relive the feelings in 5, 10, 20 years?
📖Legacy – Is this a story you’d want your children or grandchildren to see?
🧲Connection – Does it showcase relationships and love that deserve to be highlighted?
💁🏼‍♀️Presence – Do you want to be in the photo instead of taking the photo?

Everyday moments are fleeting, but the balance between phone snapshots and professional storytelling ensures your memories stay alive in the most beautiful way.

✨ Black & White vs. Color ✨

There’s just something timeless about a black & white photo—it strips away distractions and leaves you with pure emotion. On the other hand, color brings vibrance, warmth, and all the little details.

For me, a b&w landscape always makes me imagine Ansel Adams, trekking alone through God‘s country with a tripod and massive gear, to accomplish something we now do on our phones.

The best part? Family sessions don’t have to choose! 🎉 Every family gallery I deliver includes both color and black & white images. That way, you get the bold storytelling of color and the classic, artistic touch of black & white.

🖤🤍🌈 Both have their place, and together they tell your story in the most complete way possible.

Now I want to know…
👉 Do you prefer color or black & white images from your sessions?

If you’ve ever wondered what my favorite tool is when I’m behind the camera—it’s hands down my Canon 50mm prime lens. 📸

It’s small but mighty, and I reach for it more than anything else in my bag. The 50mm lets me capture creamy backgrounds, true-to-life colors, and those natural, intimate moments that make photos feel timeless.

It’s my go-to for portraits, families, and even those quick in-between shots that end up being the most meaningful. 💛 20/10 it’s what I carry around with my own kiddos too because it’s light and agile(shown).

Sometimes it’s not about having the most gear—it’s about knowing what works best to tell your story.

✨36✨
I vividly remember being a 10-year-old girl and standing alone in my dad‘s kitchen. I deeply wondered if I would grow to be successful, traveled, married, and even a mom. I never could have imagined us here.
🌙
I checked every box - all county athlete, college grad, Fortune 500 corporate girlie… I did everything “right” but something was missing. I was really good at anything I decided to do, but it seemed like all action - no intent.
💼
Life is like that - we put our head’s down and do the work. One day we wake up, ready to retire, and we are estranged from our kids, physically unable to do the things we waited for, and hopeful our 401ks hold out. I couldn’t imagine that life either.
🍋
In 19’, my dad got cancer and I became his caregiver. This gave me the “eject” button from my career that I desperately needed while I scrappily reassessed and rebuilt. It’s been six years and I still feel lucky to wake-up create my own fate. I build my schedule(s), raise my kids, and not be stuck in the monotony I was living.
🍾
So this birthday, I am grateful beyond your well wishes. Thank you for supporting my work, my business, and me. I appreciate your consistency, generosity, and the opportunity to create art for you.
