We blinked and this sweet boy is now 1 whole year old!

I also feel like I blinked and it’s now September 🤯 Where has 2026 gone?!

The next few months are almost fully booked as we head into the busiest season of the year. If you’re hoping to get on my calendar for a photo session - whether it’s maternity, newborn, heirlooms, family or other milestones - please reach out sooner than later! And if you’re expecting a baby in winter or early spring….this is your reminder to book your newborn session in pregnancy. Usually once you hit that 20 week mark, it’s a good time to book your newborn photographer. Ensuring there is space on the calendar in the weeks around your due date!

There’s been lots of conversations online lately about whether AI is eventually going to replace photographers.

And personally, I’m not worried about it. Not for my niche in the the newborn/family world.

AI can create an image. Sure. It can create a baby that looks incredibly real (albeit this should creep you out as much as it does me). It can put a family in a gorgeous setting they’ve never actually been.

But it can’t give you THIS.

It can’t capture the way it felt with your baby curled up on your chest at two weeks old. The way your toddler looks up at you. The way your family actually was, not how a computer imagined you could look.

Because the value of a photograph, at least to me, was never just in creating a pretty picture.

It’s in remembering and honoring memories that actually happened.

And as the world keeps embracing AI for more and more, I think that matters more now than ever.

I don’t know who needs to hear this (ahem…moms of littles)….but morning time > evening/golden hour for your family photo session.

Witching hour is a real phenomenon for many babies and can last well into toddlerhood. Usually between the hours of 5pm-11pm. They just aren’t their best selves as it gets closer to bedtime. That’s true even on photo day!

The light is equally as beautiful in the morning and kids are generally happiest. So if that’s true for your little one(s), let’s plan a morning session!

While there’s nothing you must bring for your newborn session (my studio has all the blankets, swaddles, etc needed)….if you show up with an outfit that you yourself wore (30ish years ago!) for newborn photos…you better believe we’ll use it!

After we finished their in-home newborn session, this beautiful momma told me she couldn’t believe how easy the experience was. That leading up to the session, she was nervous about how it would go.

Then, Morgan | Nashville Makeup Artist showed up to pamper her with hair and make-up. I arrived with wardrobe options and everything needed for baby. And, her precious girl slept like a dream the entire time…
allowing us to capture absolute melt your heart moments.

Afterwards, she didn’t know what she ever worried about! And I think it goes without saying…they loved their images 💕
