Texoma and portions of North TX will see a 40-60% chance of storms on Thursday afternoon and evening. Some storms may be strong with gusty outflow winds. Following storm chances on Thursday, a couple stray showers or storms (10-30% chance) may linger across Texoma and East TX through Friday afternoon, but otherwise most will remain dry over the weekend.

Hot weather will continue through the weekend, with high temperatures ranging from the upper 90s to 103 degrees.

Isolated strong to severe thunderstorms are possible across portions of the central Plains to the Ohio Valley on Wednesday. A more organized severe weather threat is expected from eastern Ohio to western New York.

9/7/26 5:30 PM: Large grass Fire, 100BLK HCR 4323, Hillsboro:

Multiple agencies are currently onscene of a large grass fire in the area of 100BLK of HCR 4323 in Hillsboro. Crews are still working to contain the fire, which is in a solar farm complex. Fire is currently approximately 33 acres.

Responding agencies include: Itasca Fire, Covington Fire, Hillsboro Fire, Bynum Fire, Woodbury Fire, Milford Fire, Hill County SO, and Hill County OEM.

Fire Damages/Injuries.

At this time the structure assessment team has completed their initial assessment. The wildfire has destroyed 167 structures, including 18 occupied residences, and damaged 95 structures. Through the strong efforts of the firefighters, 453 structures were saved.

Regardless of temperatures, Hummingbird migration is in full swing.
