Engagement sessions are basically a first date between the photographer & couple. A little getting to know each other, a little figuring out what feels natural, and usually a whole lot of laughing by the end. (Or nearly passing out ☠️🤣🤫)

And when that couple includes another artist, it feels even more special. Sailor Claire has such a beautiful creative eye of her own, so being chosen to photograph this season for her was such an honor. 🤍

It wasn’t the wedding day they had pictured, but somehow, that made what I witnessed even sweeter.

Allie had poured so much of her heart into the vision for this day. Every detail had been thoughtfully chosen, and the outdoor ceremony she had dreamed of was absolutely beautiful!

…. then the rain came. ☹️

From 2 PM until the very end of the night, it never really stopped. There was just enough time for a first look and a few portraits with Bryce before plans began to change. Eventually, the decision had to be made to move their ceremony indoors at the very last minute.

And of course, there was disappointment. When you’ve spent months dreaming, planning, and pouring your heart into a day, it’s okay to feel a little heartbroken when it suddenly looks different than you imagined.

But one of my favorite things to witness the two of them through all of it.

While Allie watched pieces of the day she had envisioned change around her, Bryce was right beside her / calm, comforting, reassuring, and somehow still just as happy as ever. Because it was so obvious that the details of the day weren’t what he had been waiting for.

He had been waiting for her. 🤍

Rain or shine, outside or inside, exactly as planned or nothing like it, they were there for one reason: to marry their best friend.

And watching the two of them together was such a sweet reminder that sometimes a wedding day can look completely different than you dreamed and still hold everything that truly mattered. 🤍

Allie & Bryce, you may not have gotten the day you pictured, but what a beautiful beginning you got instead. 🥹

It’s been a quiet month on the feed, but behind the scenes has been anything but. Between weddings, engagement sessions, and soaking in this busy season of life, I’ve been saving so many beautiful moments to share. 🥰

A forecast full of rain couldn’t stop the sweetest day.

From meeting at the Golden Pantry, to honoring generations through treasured heirlooms, this day was filled with stories & details that mattered most. And as if the Lord was adding one final touch, the clouds parted and a rainbow appeared just in time for sunset portraits. 🌈

A day & love story that made me feel like I was in a real hallmark movie. 💗
