You cannot walk through Watkins Glen Gorge without taking a photo at Rainbow Falls. This scene is the one that made the park famous. It's a lovely scene and as mentioned in a separate post, it pays to arrive early, before the visitors arrive, so that you have this place all to yourself.

The Cascade Falls in the Watkins Glen State Park Gorge, is 60' tall, and the tallest in the gorge. I believe it is the prettiest waterfall in the gorge to photograph, and the toughest to get a photo of without someone standing under or near it. The advantages of showing up early cannot be overstated.

Watkins Glen Gorge is perhaps one of the most photographed locations in the state, and perhaps the country. But if you get there early enough you can avoid the crowds and feel like you have the place all to yourself.

Bald Eagle scoping out his next meal. This was taken near a fish hatchery, so the salmon were so thick that you could walk across them. The Eagle was flying near the shoreline and was looking for a smaller Salmon so that he could drag it ashore. Otherwise the salmon are too heavy to fly away with.
