I don’t want your kids to cooperate. In fact I hope they don’t. The last thing I want is a kid who sits still saying cheese and doesn’t let me see their personality. I want them to jump and run and be a bit wild and smile real smiles… or even not smile at all! I want their hair to fly around and be a little messy. I want them to have fun and be a little riled up by my presence and feel like our photoshoot was interesting and even enjoyable. I love kids. I have all the patience in the world. Let them BE kids around me. Let me capture it.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to the best boy I know . My workout partner, yes man, adventure buddy… always down for anything…kindest kid you’ll ever meet. He makes me laugh endlessly with his wit, makes me smile from ear to ear, and never ceases to amaze me with his knowledge. Not to mention he’s the greatest and most caring brother to his sisters.

Not perfect. Not expensive. Not picture-perfect every second.Just warm. Safe. Fun. Full of love.

The kind of childhood where they remember being silly with you, feeling wanted and loved, laughing and being goofy.

Years from now, they probably won’t remember what was on the floor or whether everything in the house was done. But they’ll remember how home felt.They’ll remember your energy. Your laughter. The way you looked at them.

Build those memories for them.Be silly. Be present. Have fun with them.Shower them with love in all the small ordinary moments, because those are the moments that quietly become their childhood.
