It's funny....I struggled to include this photo with the bunch. For what I may think is significant, the family may think otherwise. I am glad I listened to my instincts. Mom told me later on that this is the face her son makes when he is discovering something new. She was glad I captured it and I was happy that I did too. The moral of the story? Listen to your gut, remember that you are a good Photographer and when know one is looking...give yourself a hug. You need it sometimes.

I always joke around with friends and family about owning a pet; it’s like raising a kid. It truly is. This Furry Love hasn’t been well. We are thinking she got into some poison. Took her to the ER cause she was throwing up. For the first time ever, I went to give her some “lovies” by scratching her head and she showed me her teeth. That was a warning that she wasn’t feeling well and to leave her alone. That’s when we went to the ER. So for now we wait...hopefully the meds they gave her will work. Until then, I will plant myself right beside her just like I did when my human kids had a fever just to show her I am here for her. I love you, Maise. Feel better.

It’s pretty magical when you’re sitting there staring at something and you get up and grab your camera and put your macro lens on. It reignites your passion from when you first started Photography. Don’t get wrong, Weddings, events and family sessions is what I thrive on. But when it becomes more of a job rather than a passion, sometimes you get burned out. That’s why a lot of mentors and experts in the field. Always recommend that you do a personal project once a year. I can see that now. I was hanging out by the pool and started to see the bees approaching the flowers. I thought to myself, “Wouldn’t it be cool to take a picture with a macro lens?“ That’s exactly what I did. If it was up to me, I’d bring my camera everywhere. But in today’s world, people think you’re weird if you photograph their kids or themselves and understandably so. I don’t think this minded much. More importantly, I really appreciated his photogenic qualities.

Coming back from taking their romantic photos, I couldn't help but notice just how much they were in love, the way they gazed into each other's eyes, the way they held hands, and the way they smiled at each other...it was like the whole world had come to a standstill.
