Portraits whether family, children, friends, lovers... non traditional are my favorite but I'll throw in some traditional portraits too. I can promise you that if you're willing to trust me, both in my vision and process you'll be pleasantly surprised with the results.

I like to switch it up a notch by using different angles and depth of field - movement and lighting. I want the viewer to be drawn in...and I want you to have amazing art to put up on your walls.

There’s something heartbreaking about looking at an old photograph when you’ve lived enough years to understand what it means.

You’re not just looking at people who were younger. You’re looking at a version of your life that no longer exists.

The people may have changed.
The house may be gone.
The kids grew up.
Some of the people in the photograph may not even be here anymore.

But for a second, the photograph gives you a way back.

Maybe that’s why grandparents cry.

Not because they’re sad to see the photograph. Because they know they can never go back to that moment.

There’s a moment that happens when a camera comes out.

You stop being with the people around you and start thinking about how you look to whoever is looking at you.

Connection mode → performance mode.

And suddenly everyone is smiling, standing a little too straight, wondering what to do with their hands.
It’s probably why the photographs we love most aren’t always the ones where everyone was “posing right.”
Sometimes the best photographs happen after everyone forgets they’re being photographed.

I used to think being stifled meant something was wrong with me. Now I think it just means too much life is happening at once and the art hasn't caughtbreathed.

Give it time — it always circles back, usually saying something truer because of what it had to survive first.

The voice doesn't disappear, it just waits for room to breathe.
