Backstory: One of my best friends from college, Sarah, is an amazing midwife. I see the toll it takes on her be up at all hours of the day and night, available for whenever it's time for a birth. But I also see the joy it brings for her to welcome so many lives into the world.

She is a huge support to the women she helps give birth. She really cares about their wants and needs and making them feel comfortable and valued while also keeping them and their babies safe.

I'm so honored that NBC used one of my photos of her for their article about her role in trying to get the state of Georgia to remove some of their restrictions on midwives so they can provide care to more women in the area.

Happy Valentine's Day + Life Update:

I haven't been posting many photo sessions since we moved to Indiana. That's because in October I applied for a job as a chocolatier and am so fortunate that they hired me and have trained me on all things chocolate!

I truly feel like I'm in a Hallmark movie, and am already sad to leave when we move again in a couple of years. I love using my artistic side to help others celebrate big and small moments, and this is just another way to do that.

I'm still doing some photography on the side, but if you're ever in Bloomington, you should check out the Bloomington Chocolate Co. located in The Olive Leaf.

I love seeing all the cute things every day when I go into work (it's always changing with the different seasons), even when I'm not the one making them...like the chocolate covered strawberries.

I love celebrating every occasion, and working here makes it easy since is always so festive! My coworkers are wonderful, which helps make this a lovely season of life.

If you're contemplating trying something new, I say give it a try! It doesn't always work out, but sometimes it's even better than you imagine.
