It has been quite some time friends...
What was supposed to be a brief maternity leave ended up being a quiet hiatus and almost 2 year retirement from photography all together.

But who was I kidding? You cannot keep me away from a camera... so what have I been up to?

Well, we are now in Southern California, the high desert area to be specific, at a tiny base called NTC or Fort Irwin. Maybe you've heard of it? Definitely was a whole body and lifestyle shock coming here but nevertheless we've made the most of life!

I have been fully immersed in social media content creation since being here the past year and while it has its perks, I do miss shooting my lovely clients. (Look me up on IG @ Songofhouse)

So breaking out of my break, retirement, whatever you want to call it with a soft come back!

I still won't be actively booking or taking clients, but will be open to session requests with those whose creative vision for their shoot align with mine.

Hey Everyone! I have been a little hermit and been taking an extended Maternity leave since the weather has been so cold and gloomy, but with sunny days ahead I thought it was about time I come out of hibernation. 😂

With the addition of our second baby I have decided to take a step back from returning to photography full time. This was a hard decision to make as I am navigating motherhood and it really just came down to the fact that I want to spend as much time with my babies in these few years before they grow up too fast!

What does this mean? I will be taking on a limited number of photoshoots per month and will be offering seasonal mini sessions with limited availability as well. But with that said I do have a few exciting changes coming along with model calls so stay tuned for those!

Okay okay - I realize I haven't posted since my last post and I am so sorry! We are now T-3 days from my scheduled c-section and the days have been a blur from resting to preparing for baby girl's arrival!

Who else is excited for Lunar New Year this weekend? I am hoping and praying Isla stays inside until the Lunar New Year so she can be year of the rabbit like her mama and dada! 🐰✨

Here is a little in home studio session of the adorable Kim family kiddos in their hanboks!

I will be on Maternity leave until the beginning of March!
Can't wait to get back into the swing of things - I am already itching to shoot again.

I just realized I haven't posted in almost a month! Wow that month flew by fast with what feels like absolutely nothing, but everything happening at the same time! I am sure everyones social calendars are super busy and the holiday hustle and bustle is in full swing.

I am just editing away and still taking on a few clients til the end of the year and then finally going on Maternity Leave! I can't believe I am only 7 weeks out from meeting our baby girl. And we just revealed her name! Isla Rose Song ✨

With things slowing down I promise I will share more of my sessions from the past 2 months and oh do some blog posts too (haha totally forgot about that).

But meanwhile I hope you all stay cozy and warm through the holidays!

Hi Friends!

I am officially on vacation/babymoon starting today til Nov 16th! I will be offline and out of my inbox so please take note if you are trying to reach me. I will still be editing here and there to keep up with this seasons demand and deadlines. ❤️

But I also desperately need a break and a real vacation which we haven't had in almost 3 years. Thank you all for your continued love and support of this mama and small business!

Going to leave some previews from my studio holiday mini's - all holiday mini session first edit galleries have been delivered! Your final galleries will be delivered within a week of you choosing your favorites!

I want to start this post by saying the Photography business can be brutal. From marketing, to client care, endless emails, hours upon hours staring at a screen, keeping up to date with social media and seo, etc... - its a lot to navigate.

I have been so fortunate to network and meet some really great photographers, now friends, along the way. Community is everything. And I am always so happy to help out my fellow photog friends.

It was an absolute honor and pleasure to shoot my new friends Briana and her family this season! Here are some of my favorites from her session!

Oh wow guys! I don't know what was going on with Facebook the last 2 weeks but every time I would try to post it wouldn't let me - glad the bug is fixed!

I have so many galleries I want to share so I guess I will just start off with a few favorites from my Fall Tipsoo Mini's that have all been delivered now!

November is filling up quickly! & December books are open until I take maternity leave probably a week before Christmas but still open to accommodating anyone before the New Year.

I will be on my babymoon from Nov 12-16 and will be completely offline!
