MEGACON ORLANDO, ONE OF NORTH AMERICA’S LARGEST CELEBRATIONS OF FANDOM, WRAPPED UP AN ELECTRIC FOUR DAYS WITH RECORD-BREAKING ATTENDANCE AND UNFORGETTABLE MOMENTS

ORLANDO, FLA – MARCH 2026 – More than 195,000 fans celebrated a weekend of all things fandom at MEGACON Orlando 2026, the Southeast’s ultimate playground for comics, anime, movies, TV, sci-fi, horror, and gaming. Attendees enjoyed a star-studded lineup of celebrities, impressive cosplay, endless interactive programming, and once-in-a-lifetime experiences at the Orange County Convention Center. Fans can already look forward to MEGACON Orlando 2027, as dates were announced for next year’s convention: May 20 through May 23.
MEGACON Orlando’s exciting 2026 celebrity appearances including several cast reunions such as: The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbits - Elijah Wood, Orlando Bloom, Sean Astin, Liv Tyler, David Wenham, John Rhys-Davies, Billy Boyd, and Dominic Monaghan; Star Trek - William Shatner, Jonathan Frakes, Gates McFadden, Brent Spiner, and Walter Koenig; The Mummy - Brendan Fraser, Oded Fehr, John Hannah, Patricia Velasquez; Hocus Pocus - Omri Katz, Vinessa Shaw, Jason Marsden, Thora Birch; The Goonies - Sean Astin, Robert Davi, Joe Pantoliano, Martha Plimpton, Corey Feldman; X-Files - Gillian Anderson, Annabeth Gish, Nicholas Lea, Mitch Pileggi, Robert Patrick; and more.
Celebrities were also in appearance and signing autographs, including: KPop Demon Hunters - Ji-Young Yoo, Arden Cho, and Rei Ami; Mr. T; John Cena; Diego Luna; John Boyega; Alec and Stephen Baldwin; Ron Perlman; Heather Graham; Helen Hunt; and many more.
Highlights from MEGACON Orlando 2026 included:
An Evening with the Hobbits: In Celebration of 25 Years: Elijah Wood, Sean Astin, Dominic Monaghan, and Billy Boyd
Elijah Wood, Sean Astin, Dominic Monaghan, and Billy Boyd reunited to celebrate 25 years of Middle-earth magic, treating fans to an unforgettable, nostalgia-filled experience. Throughout the weekend, attendees enjoyed exclusive backstage pass opportunities, team-up and individual photo ops, autographs, and access to their special panel. To end the weekend, fans attended Second Breakfast with the Hobbits, held at the Rosen Centre, which closed out the action-packed celebration. Guests also had access to exclusive merchandise available only during the event.
John Cena Live
Fans had the opportunity to meet John Cena through autographs, photo ops, and special experiences like John Cena Live, where he took the stage for an energetic, fan Q&A. As seen in a standout recap moment, Cena had the audience buzzing with his charisma and humor, delivering heartfelt interactions and engaging directly with fans.
KPop Demon Hunters
Stars from KPop Demon Hunters, including Arden Cho, Ji-young Yoo, and Rei Ami, drew packed crowds across multiple panels, where they reflected on the film’s breakout success and cultural impact. As seen in fan-favorite moments, the trio shared behind-the-scenes stories, connected with audiences through lively and heartfelt conversations, and teased what’s next in their rapidly rising careers, leaving fans energized and eager for what’s to come.
Wētā Workshop
In a major highlight for fantasy fans, Wētā Workshop brought an extraordinary lineup of creative visionaries to the event, including Sir Richard Taylor, Tania Rodger, Daniel Falconer, and Flo Foxworthy. Attendees gained rare behind-the-scenes insight during engaging panels, from Foxworthy’s deep dive into crafting cutting-edge costumes across blockbuster films to Falconer’s immersive journey through Middle-earth. The sessions offered fans an inside look at the artistry behind some of the world’s most iconic films, making for an unforgettable, creatively charged experience.
Cosplayers stole the show with incredible looks
Cosplay encounters were endless at MEGACON Orlando. Fans had the opportunity to strut their costumes on a Cosplay Red Carpet. Plus, fans once again participated in the Masters of Cosplay Grand Prix, for a chance to win prizes for their looks. MEGACON Orlando hosted the Masters of Cosplay Grand Finale, where Cosplay award-winners from all over North America competed for the grand prize of $10,000.
Fans attended an Exclusive After-Hours Event at Universal Studios
On Friday, March 20, MEGACON Orlando attendees were treated to an unforgettable after-hours event at Universal Orlando Resort. Fans enjoyed an exclusive mix-in at Universal’s Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios after the park closed. The night provided an immersive experience where attendees could enjoy thrilling attractions, special entertainment, and a vibrant atmosphere alongside fellow pop culture enthusiasts.
