Lately, I have been struggling internally with the question “am I uniquely creative enough to get where I want to be?” Totally an Enneagram 4 thing to struggle with, right? But I also don’t think the question is unique to me (or a 4).
I often take inventory of where I am as a photographer and where I want to be and then doubt creeps in - can I get “there”? Do I even posses the ability? I’m realizing “there” is a moving target. There is and always will be a new goal to hit, something to learn, some way to push yourself and grow.
While it’s an uncomfortable place to be, it’s in the in-between of where you are and where you want to be that growth really takes place. It’s in the place of being dissatisfied with the currently reality that we make changes and pursue more. We try, we test, we learn, we fail, we try again and we become better and closer to our “there”.
So if you’re feeling like me today, I encourage you (as I encourage myself), believe in yourself. Keep pressing forward. Push your boundaries and watch how you slowly but surely grow into your “there”. Then be prepared for a new “there” to form. 🤍
