When Sam and I moved to Indiana in 2018, we didn’t know many people. I snagged a great job at Starbucks while I started my photography business, and Sam quickly started working for our church. And it was there we met these sweet two.

Drew was the quiet & kind drummer with long hair; Darby would get up early, open the shop & make coffees with me at 4am. So you can imagine the squeal I let out opening my 2025 inbox - it’s years later, they’ve met at work, fell in love, and the rest is history!!! 🎉🍾✨

They hosted the most easy breezy laid back wedding: surrounded by the people they love most, their puppers, and a beautiful vineyard sunset. 🌅

These sweet friends hold such a special place in my heart, and I couldn’t be more delighted that they found each other 🥹✨

Unbridled joy ✨ Practicing your soft smile for your wedding day? Not Rachael 😆

I’d had a couple of Zoom meetings with Rachael & Cole before their wedding to plan & dream together. But when I showed up in the morning and finally met this literal ball of sunshine, I knew we were in for a joy-filled day! ☺️✨👏

Her brothers set the tone first- pulling out their cellos & violins🎻🎹 to practice the ceremony music in their PJs, and then dancing it out with Rachael after their first look in the kitchen in the home they grew up in. 💃 Her sisters & bridesmaids, best friends, reminiscing on each of their wedding days that they all shared together. 🥰 Cole was in teary-eyed awe when he saw Rachael, & they cried together before walking each other down the aisle. 👰🏻‍♀️🤵🏻‍♂️ It was flash mobs & “I can’t believe you drove this far for us!” & ‘we just want to have fun” portraits & groomsmen throwing Cole in the air & long, tight hugs. 🤗

Absolutely delighted for these two & the joy that clearly radiates from these newlyweds!

Mr. & Mrs. Wahl ✨

When I pulled up to the house in the morning, I was met by a rare sight on wedding days: it was quiet. Her wedding dress hanging from the door frame; a new year’s prayer written above the threshold; soft music playing; Julia & her mom sitting at the dining room table, watching as she finished up her makeup for her wedding day, framed by last of her father’s garden through the living room windows. 🪴🍂❄️

There was a stillness & sacredness to the morning.

That’s how their whole celebration was, because that’s how Luke & Julia are. Such a reflection of their steadfast & gentle love. No pomp - just sweetness & intentionality.

They even gave their guests a special coffee menu from & said “We’ll take our time getting there, so grab a coffee! On the house!” ☕️✨ At the end of the night, they stole away from the party for a moment by themselves at one of their favorite coffee shops & took a moment to breathe on their wedding day.

Such an honor to get to know these two! (& photograph their important moments) 💖🫶

Slowly catching up on sharing the last two months of weddings as busy season comes to a close. So, I HAVE to start with Maura & John’s September wedding in the vineyard! 🍇✨

Working with these two was such an absolute blast this last year! They have such kind spirits, and are so expectant of all the joy & goodness that surrounds them. Between planning & logistics & a literal chemical fire with a shelter in place order, their day could have been stressful. But it wasn’t. In fact, it was smooth & intentional & dare I say, calm!

They prayed, they ate, they were getting married… nothing could steal the joy they had cultivated; they had their eyes set on only each other 🥰

I couldn’t be happier for these two newlyweds! Congratulations, Mr. & Mrs. Rice! 🎉💒

PS. After meeting Maura and shooting their engagement photos, we realized we lived around the corner from each other in the same little neighborhood! SO sweet!! 🙌

Peighton & Evan ✨

Each & every single moment of their wedding day was truly crafted just for them 🥹

Peighton had fallen in love with The Reitz Home Museum here in EVV, so naturally that was the place to be on their Sunday celebration! They invited just their immediate family, about 20 people or so, to sit in & be a part of their ceremony. No wedding party. No big to-do list. Just them, their parents, their siblings. It was intimate & intentional & slow & vulnerable & beautiful ✨

They took photos in the museum. They stopped by their family’s bench (on the walk home). They had custom little rat toppers for their cheesecake. They decorated with neons & pastels & rows & rows of florals. 🤩🌸🌺🌼 They didn’t dance. They played table top games with their friends & piled on couches & gave toasts & bear hugs.✨

What a beautiful & intentional celebration of them 👰‍♀️🤵‍♂️🥂✨

Courtney & Adam are married!! 🥂🎉

Phew 😮‍💨🥹🥰 I left their day *tired*, and maybe with the fullest heart I’ve had in a while.

Every single person walked away from their day with a:
“Hey! You are wonderful!”
“I handmade this gift for you!”
“Here’s a thoughtful letter for you!”
or a “I’m so grateful you came!”…
…and so on. They spent the whole day looking outward at the love they had built.

They were so present; soaking up every single ounce they could muster of the true JOY of the day! They laughed - they BELLY LAUGHED - they cried, and cried harder. They doubled over in laughter & laughed so hard they cried. Even ending the night with a unity ceremony (complete with fireworks) not for their guests - but just for the boys - their little sweet family of four. 😭🥹🎆🎇

My husband usually asks for a full report when I get home from weddings, and when I set my bags down & took a deep breath, my only thought was, “Today was a ✨good✨day.”
