Charlene met me at another wedding I was at, remembered my Instagram handle after I told it to her verbally, reached out to me the next day and booked me for her wedding two months before the big day.

I remember being so marked by her intention to work with me. It was one of the first times I didn't feel inadequate in the wedding space or that I had to prove myself somehow. I was still so new, and looking back I had a lot to learn. Yet she chose me for me, no questions asked.

I was so happy with how their photos turned out, because I knew they trusted me. That allowed me to create for them without second guessing or self doubt. I still love these photos for what they taught me about the kind of wedding photographer I wanted to be.

When Kristen and Tom’s kids ask to see pictures of them one day, I’m so glad they’ll get to show them these.
