I was planning to do a day in the life post today but… it’s my one year wedding anniversary so I’m going to be off for the day enjoying my family (I pre-scheduled this post, such an amazing feature for us busy business owners)!!

I can’t believe it’s already been a year since we said I do!! Matt and I started dating in 2013 and we’ve been through so much together since that time. The ups and downs only prepared us for a healthy marriage this past year! It’s been the best year of our time together, was every day easy… absolutely not but together we are much stronger!

I couldn’t do what I do without his support! He’s often at home hanging out with Holden while I’m out running sessions and meetings. They have created their own little routines while I’m away and it’s always fun to hear their stories when I come home!

This life we’ve created is blessed for many reasons, and many of you are a part of those blessings! Thank you for loving and supporting this little family of mine!!

What a day… I had just gotten to work at school and my phone started going off like crazy! So many people checked in when they heard about the fire being near the studio. Thankfully the amazing Salamanca Fire Department and many others who came to keep the blaze contained and put it out nothing reached the studio. It was a few cold wet hours waiting to make sure everything was safe and once I was assured I came home to try and warm back up! Thank you to all who have reached out and checked on me and the business, it means so much!!

It has been another crazy week for my family but I wanted to show up for you guys like I said I would! I meant to post these yesterday but it just slipped my mind and before I knew it was today!

We had so much fun laughing during this session and thankfully beat the rain! We literally got in our cars to go and within a minute it was pouring! I can’t wait to show you some of the behind the scenes from this shoot later this week!

Sometimes it’s hard to be everything all the time! I’m mom, wife, teacher assistant, and business owner. Most of those options I can’t walk away from the responsibilities for very long or things start to fall apart. However, if we don’t stop and take care of ourselves, burnout is a real thing.

This summer while taking care of me, I focused on my faith and relationship with God. I made time to walk each night and went back to the gym. I drank more water and changed my eating habits. I gave myself grace when I usually wouldn’t have. I ended up losing 25 pounds and while that’s a reward all in itself the true reward was finding my focus.

I’m learning to schedule my time better so that I can still do all the things, just without getting the burn out that’s been known to accompany them. Now I get to show up for me and for all of you, because I’ve been putting in the work to be able to!

It’s that time of year!! Senior sessions are in full swing! This beautiful girl is the third of four sisters I’ve had the pleasure to photograph for Senior Portraits! Thankfully mom has a little break before the fourth needs to have hers done!

I think my favorite part of senior portraits is capturing the many different personalities each student has! In high school we were all learning so much, not just educationally but so much about ourselves. We start to figure out more of the things we truly enjoy, we start to think about what we may want to do in the years following high school, we learn about friendships, and we learn about how we react to situations that go on around us!

Hey family!! I’m back!! I’m sure many of you have noticed an absence here on Facebook recently (you’re not the only ones, my uncle and my dad who live out of state reached out to make sure I was ok too). I think we all go through phases of burn out where we need to take a step back and focus on fixing ourselves, our physical and mental wellbeing is so truly important! I can’t give you the best I have to offer if I’m not at my best status!

With that being said I didn’t go away completely! I have still been booking sessions just not as often as I was. I have been working behind the scenes with this summer on making a real game plan for success going forward. We have some amazing things planned coming up and I can’t wait to share them all with you!!

I’m officially back and will have more of a set schedule so you can know when I can be reached and what’s available for bookings. Thank you for those who have been here supporting me along the way while I focused on my family life, but it’s time I get back to focusing on you!

Life has been crazy and while this is my slow season at the studio home life has kept me on my toes! Hopefully this will be some of last bit of winter and into spring we go!! I should have everything in this week to get the studio set up for spring sessions this coming weekend and the following!! Be on the look out for those set ups to post!!
