I'm going to attempt to post some sessions/projects/news from the last two years. I've been extremely lax in posting on social media, because as we all know, social media can be terribly frustrating for small businesses. I even find it frustrating posting on my personal account, let alone on my business account. Questions that arise when thinking about posting...does anyone see what I'm posting, does anyone even care, what's the point, do I want this on the internet for all eternity, am I wasting my time...and on and on and on, but what the heck, here goes. 😆
A few weeks ago, I photographed the Camp New Hope Butterfly Gardens for a client. It was right up my alley, so I was thrilled with the opportunity. I'm pretty sure it was the hottest day of the entire year and I'm fairly certain I got heat exhaustion and very nearly heat stroke. Even the insects were barely out and about. I only saw a couple of butterflies and nearly no other insects. I worked outside in the Caribbean for 16 years, and this day was hotter than any day I ever experienced there! I powered through and finished up after 3 hours of walking the property, and what a property it is! It's really quite beautiful and a very cool camp. It's located on Lake Mattoon and is around 50 acres, with winding pathways through a forest and dotted with butterfly gardens throughout. There are camping cottages, a swimming pool, fire pits, mini-golf, a pontoon boat, a large playground, a nifty little train and so much more. A great experience and still a lot of fun, even with the heat!
