She’s not just expecting, she’s arriving.

There’s a version of maternity photos that shrinks a woman down to her bump. This isn’t that. This session was about the whole woman — the curves, the tattoos she’s proud of, the way she holds a room even wrapped in nothing but sheer fabric and confidence. Pregnancy doesn’t put a pause on power. If anything, it sharpens it.

Before this session, she told me she felt uncomfortable in her body. Not like herself.

I told her the truth... She looked amazing and her photos were going to look like they belonged in a magazine.

She didn’t believe me until she saw them.

This is what carrying your first child actually looks like, not something to feel uncomfortable about, but something worth showing up like the miracle this is.

Something happened at today’s session that hardly ever happens… I was speechless. When Leah and I sat down to review the images, a few of them stopped me cold. This session was a true collaboration. We each brought our own ideas and used them as a starting point for what we created, but we never would have landed on an image like this one without talking it through first. That’s what I want to build with every woman who comes in for a beauty or bo***ir session… An honest conversation before the camera even comes out. What you imagine for yourself. What you love. What you don’t. We use that as the script for images to tell the story of you.

Some strength stories don’t need explaining. They’re written right there.

After this session, Heather told me something simple: “My tattoos are part of my story. All my tattoos tell a story.”

That’s really the whole idea. You don’t have to soften the parts of yourself that took work to earn: the muscle, the ink, the years. They’re not something to explain away. They’re proof.
