The Jenny Lens When being a Mom-tographer turned to photographer
The Jenny Lens was created
"It's The Way I See You" Hey there! My name is Jenn. I'm a creative by nature. Snap!

I enjoy writing, marketing, reading, decorating cakes, anything outdoors and I coach basketball on occasion. That's not what you are here for. So, let's talk photography. My earliest memory of my love for photography came at the age of 12. As many young girls do, a friend and I lacquered drugstore makeup and suave hairspray on her younger sister. I hijacked this really cool camera from my mom, the

disposable Kodak camera. It was cool at the time! And.... off we went. Three girls, one small midwest town. Down to the beach. To the woods. The playground at the school. Unable to see in real-time what the result of that point-and-shoot was. I'm sure I harassed my mom ad nauseam to get the film developed. When the product of our middle school play came back (Kmart prints), I remember being surprised and so was everyone else. They turned out beautiful! I mean, as beautiful as 1980's disposable camera with spackled makeup, stiff hair, and Kmart photo processing can be. It was the lighting. Her connection with the camera. Her comfort with me. That! was undeniable; even with all of the technology and youth we had working against us. As life would have it, however, I went on to do other things. I joined the US Navy, which took me to many different countries. I earned a Bachelor's degree in Business Management. Worked in Corporate and Small Businesses. All the while using photography as a hobby to document the memories of my life. Until....

One person's request to document their memories, turned into another, turned into another, turned into writing an 'about' section for my own photography website and social media sites. Which possibly turns into you and I talking about documenting your special moments and memories also....

Skip Rocks.
Wrestle.
Get dirty.
Splash.
Peel your shirt off, jump in the river. (Photos not posted, because weirdos are on the interwebs).

I’ve said once, maybe a million times, I’m grateful to get to do what I do.

Create art, make memories.

Highly recommend marrying one that:

Lives with integrity as a default, not just when people are looking.
Hopes you to wait for him to open the door to your car, the restaurant, or anywhere you enter together.
Is the safest man to ever walk into your life.
Makes every decision with you in mind.
Is secure enough to cheer you on doing ‘man’ things.
Stable enough to create a safe space for your femininity to bloom.
Leads your family as a father first, friend as adults.
Heals wounds in you he did not inflict.
Shines a spotlight where others attempt to dim.
Dreams of your future together.
Is just as adventurous as you are.
Has immense respect for his position as a stepparent.
Is quick to apologize.
Chooses you EVERY. DAMN. DAY!

Happy Anniversary to the man I am so fortunate to have in my corner, who provides stability in every way, my protector and security.
