A love letter to September, one of my favorite months for a wedding in Michigan. The lingering summer green is making way for the fall colors. What a day at Book Tower with D+T! Love was all around us, and it was such a joyful celebration from start to finish.

Also, they had 8 (!!) grandparents in attendance, which I think is the most I’ve had present on a wedding day in my 11 years of photographing weddings. How amazing is that!

A+D, back to where their love story began. Married by their friend who introduced them. Surrounded by their loving families, and friends from all stages of their lives. These two, with souls cut from the same cloth. What a day!

Also, I cannot get over the stunning architecture in Ann Arbor and the University of Michigan! The Michigan League and Michigan Union were really showing off. (Hats off from a Spartan!)

Your reception venue sets the tone for your celebration. After Book Tower underwent renovations a few years ago to restore it back to its 1920s glory, the rotunda (with gold accents, 6,000 glass panels and 7,000 jewels) is one of the first things guests see when the walk in, and it serves as a gorgeous backdrop for portraits.
