It’s been a while.. ☺️ I wanted to reintroduce myself!
Hello! I’m Rachelle! Owner and Photographer of Jens and Wilder Creative. I’ve dreamed of being a photographer since my early childhood. My love for cameras started at an early age when my Grandpa McDonald handed over his old school Polaroid and we had an adventure of a small town neighborhood with a courtyard of flags to discover. (Brooklyn, IA) My love for cameras continued with the disposable cameras that you’d take into Walmart and pick up an hour later after your grocery shopping was done. You had no idea what your photos looked like until you picked up your prints. Pure nostalgia! ✨
One Christmas at around age 10, I asked for an electric guitar which I later had my mom return and I bought my first digital camera! I’d snap photos of friends at school dances or going out for a birthday dinner. Then going into my senior year of High School, I took my friend’s senior photos with a camera I upgraded to from the Silver Digital First OG. 😉
Fast forward to 2024, when I decided to invest in my dream and I purchased my first Sony and lens recommended by my cousin, whom I idol as a professional videographer.. (Photography runs in my family down the line a ways which I find super cool!) I took a leap of faith and pursued a dream I was underwhelmed by when the dream was a thought, and overwhelmed by the time I had my new camera gear in my hands. Ha! (This is still an overwhelm as I have so much to learn) 🙂
My dream of capturing other people at their best, most genuine moments together, is something I’ve always been after. Having the beauty of a moment in a photograph forever is something I’ve always cherished personally, and doing that for others, means even more to me. The more connections I have made with families and individuals and the more beautiful work I get a chance to create, is me living my best life. I genuinely love it. 🤍
Jens and Wilder Creative was a dream that started young and developed into a true passion of mine. Named after my Grandpa Jens Sorensen, I’m grateful I have the opportunity to capture, learn and grow within my passion.
I strive to create a genuine experience during our session together. I’d love to have you!
