The Valentine Family was due for some updated photos since the birth of their new baby girl. We took an adventure to the Park of Roses and had a beautiful time frolicking through the gardens.

The thing no one sees behind the scenes when owning my business is how much my health affects my ability to work. Both my chronic illness and mental illnesses take a toll on my body in so many ways. These are the pills I have to take every day, some twice a day, just to be able to get out of bed. Hypothyroidism and Hashimoto’s knocks me on my tail most days. Depression and anxiety keep me in a fight or flight 24/7. I’m exhausted and drained before I’ve even started my photo sessions. And after… well I’m pretty much worthless while rotting in bed trying to recover. BUT, I wouldn’t trade my photo business for a thing, and I won’t give up on it until my body shuts down completely. Photography & my customers give me so much to look forward to even on my worst days. And for that, I’m forever thankful for each of you who support me… you help me forget how sick I feel.

Those first holidays without someone important burn a hole in your heart so deep. Was it the smoke from the fireworks or the realization that you weren’t here that had me gasping for air?
The first 4th of July in 18 years without Aspen, and it hurt more than I can possibly describe in this little text box. I had just started a yearly photo tradition with him a few years back: a warm happy sunny July holiday with lots of cheek kissies. My best friend, my soul, I miss you to the core of the earth and back. It’s hard to believe I’ve been without you for 9 months already.

I’m so grateful for the THOUSANDS of pictures I have of him, but not being able to carry on a photo tradition like this has me broken 💔
