Jamie and Thayne’s elopement downtown Cincinnati was celebrated on a beautiful Thursday afternoon. They spent a slow morning getting ready together and were off to the courthouse for the ceremony, headed to the gorgeous Lytle Hotel for drinks and appetizers with their closest family and ended their evening at a delicious steak house to celebrate ❤️ It was truly the most special and intimate day and I’m so grateful to of been a part of it.

I got to capture Morgan and Adam’s maternity session in the fall so being invited back into their home to capture their first portraits as a family of three was such an honor and just pure magic ✨ I’m still in awe to be invited to some of the most intimate moments of my clients lives to document a part of history for them. Just in my feels looking through these tonight 🥹

As much as we celebrate our little ones on their first trip around the sun, there is so much for us mama’s to celebrate, too. Because somewhere in that first year, we realize we’ve been born again. We become their safe place to land, their comfort in the dark, their keeper of secrets, their garden grower, their protector, their home. We learn how to carry a love so deep it reshapes the very core of who we are.

The first year isn’t just the story of our babies growing up, it’s the story of us becoming a mother. And that is worth celebrating, too ❤️
