What to look for when you’re searching for a wedding photographer, FROM a wedding photographer with seven years of experience:

1. Look for someone who you TRUST and whose personality you like.

Most people don’t realize it, but your wedding photographer is one of the few people with you for the ENTIRE day. If you hire vendors in general that you don’t vibe with, the vibes will be off. Finding someone who can do their job while working through chaos and making everything you’ve dreamed of happen without stressing you out is key!

2. Look for someone who knows how to work with ALL lighting situations.

A lot of photographers tend to post their FAVORITE shots to their social media. You often see golden hour wedding photos or sessions that they could control location and time of the photos. A wedding day is so much more than that. Sometimes it is working with different lighting or poor weather. Being a flexible photographer also means knowing your gear. Ambient lighting is a gorgeous addition to a photo gallery, but does your photographer also know how to use their flash if needed in a super dark space like the reception dance floor? There are SO many situations to consider that go beyond the highlight reel of a social media account. The best way to see how your photographer works is to request to view a full gallery or two and ask questions!

3. Pick someone whose photos you already love!

Photographers specialize in a certain look and feel to their photos. If you love a light and airy wedding photo look, look for someone that already does that! If you love something dark and moody, go that route. Picking a photographer based on other factors and then expecting them to conform to a different style is not the way to go! We specialize in specific looks for a reason + it is often in the contract that you trust your photographer to edit and pick out the best photos to deliver. I like to describe my photos as natural with a little extra warmth and vibrancy!

They are completely donation based!

Every penny of the profits will be used by myself and my senior reps to shop for a Christmas tree angel for the Salvation Army 🫶🏻

(These will be much different than my traditional minis!)

I wanted to make Christmas photos as accessible as possible while also giving back! I’ve always loved picking an angel off of the tree to bless during the holiday season & I thought it would be SO fun to include my senior reps in giving back 💓

One thing you’ll never regret investing in: photos.

I am totally biased because I AM a photographer, but truly, you won’t regret it.

I got engaged and married young + one of the most important things for our wedding budget was a photographer. Over a year later, I am forever grateful that that was my mindset. Our photos are the ONE thing from our wedding day that we get to admire every single day. They hang on the walls of our home, sit in a photo album I pull out frequently and are the backdrops of our phones. I get to enjoy my wedding photos every single day.

My dress is hung in a bag in my closet. I might pull it out down the road to admire it. Our cake was well enjoyed on our wedding day. The music fades. The flowers will wilt. Your photos will be forever.

Your wedding day is the one day that all of your most important people get to be in one room together. It’s such a beautiful thing. Your gallery is filled with memories of the best day, including some of the last best photos of people you hold close to your hearts.

If I can give one piece of advice to a future bride or groom planning your wedding its this: invest in your photos. A photographer you love. Timeless imagery. A gallery of photos that you will share for generations to come.
