What an enchanting evening I had with these two dancers, sisters, and lifelong besties. I was memorized by their jumps, their balance, and their sheer strength with the backdrop of a beautiful garden

Year two of photographing each of their outfits & routines from their dance season (but year one of having a box fan provided for set breaks thanks to the amazing Ashley Cassandra (it might have been 90 some degrees that day…)

I’d be lion if I said these past few sunny days didn’t fill my cup- I got to play in the dirt where my garden is slowly awakening, hang out at a playground with my littles, & spent several hours wandering local trails

I’ve been doing a lot more studio work this winter, chasing cloudy light from old windows and brewing chai teas to warm up between sessions

It’s been such a lovely workflow (especially when I get to dote on such wonderful clients)

Something that I love about photographing seniors is getting to meet, chat with, and photograph these truly remarkable young adults. Bella was an old soul, wearing her leather jacket and wanting to start the session shopping for vinyl in (it was a 2fer- she got a few pics AND the rumors album while we were in there)

I love seeing younger generations rediscover previous gen’s music. It feels like music can transcend the passage of time so effortlessly

Some quiet reflecting while observing our winter wonderlandscape in my backyard. My heart feels so heavy with the news from the weekend. It’s so difficult to process the horrific images coming out of our country while also showing up to be a Mom of littles (wearing a face a bravery) a Mom to a young adult (giving truth & perspective) a partner to my husband (sharing grief while raising a family) and an RN (giving care and healing, much like Alex Pretti until his very last moments)

My son was born in a snowstorm quite like this. A 15 minute hospital drive turned into a panic stricken hour long fiasco (but we made it, and I’m forever grateful) But, other parts of the country are covered in ice, and are struggling. My heart is with them

The girlies and I put some food coloring & water in some old aluminum trays to freeze and set out into our yard. Sometimes hope can be found in whimsy joy where you least expect it
